Conversations with Keyuna Anderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keyuna Anderson.

Hi Keyuna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started doing hair at 14 years old where I was doing my younger siblings hair and other friends in the neighborhood. As I got older, I always dreamed of being on tv and styling celebrities and people of higher authority. So I attended hair school twice in order to perfect my God-given talents. I worked at several salons over the years one in which I worked under an NFL star mothers salon for about three years in which I built a stable clientele. I knew that wasn’t it for me and that there were greater plans ahead so one day, I relocated to Atlanta in hopes of fulfilling the dream that I had imagined.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It was definitely not a smooth road being that I moved to another state with no help from family and didn’t have any resources or a job only the little money I had saved up. The main struggle was finding a job that pays enough to maintain a household and finding new clients.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a traveling hairstylist for people that are unable to come into the salon or clients in other states. I’m predominantly in a salon setting servicing clients with natural hair and also extensions. I specialize in hair extensions of all kinds. I am known for doing a bomb sew in and wig applications. I am most proud of the positive changes I’ve made and the people I’ve been meeting. What sets me apart from others is that I’m a perfectionist, I really enjoy what I do and I love changing the lives of others. I am more than a stylist; I am a friend, a mentor, and a sister to my clients.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
What is surprising is I’m nervous with every client I meet.
