Conversations with Kisha (Sexi Kisha) Baez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kisha (Sexi Kisha) Baez.

Kisha (Sexi Kisha) Baez

Hi Kisha (Sexi Kisha), thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado by a single mom who passed when I was 14 years old from Sickle Cell Anemia. She taught me everything.

Life, the game, how to become book smart and street smart.

My family is from Gary, Indiana, and the South side of Chicago.

Music was life in my house. I woke up to Hip Hop and went to bed to R&B. I started my musical journey as a poet, I did spoken word, and hosted several shows. I recorded my first track on a live recording in College.

A couple of years later, the digital era of music began.

With the digitalization revolution erupting and social media began to peak, I started to network and opened my first major show Sixman of Detroit.

From then, I began to create traction for myself and began being asked to collaborate with artists from all over the world. 🌍 I’ve been honored with the Spotify artist to watch for my song “Tick Toc” and have been interviewed by several media outlets and an award nominee including Yo ATL Awards. ATL Junkies, Del C Interview, Media Boss Queen, Proper Play, Voyager Denver, Shout Out Colorado Artist 2 Artist, and Doc Dillinger have all been major media outlets that have supported me, and I’m grateful.

I’ve also opened for General Norrad of the Group HBO. Also was invited to open for Soulja Boys artist Twoodz. I was an opener for Foxamillion of Savage Life, and I’ve also worked with a manager of Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs and Harmony.

I appreciate the ability to collaborate and/or speak with very prominent producers such as Wyshmaster Beats, Billie Big Shot Beats, Devin You a Fool, Parkboybills, Wumpted, Anno Domini, Slimdaproducer, Nexentertainer of Black Empire Music in Nigeria.

In addition to music, I am a model, actress, video model, writer, singer, influencer and have a live podcast by the name of “ The Sexi Kisha Show” for more information and my bio and songs.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth! There have been several struggles as an artist and a woman in general. Trying to build a professional brand and maintain healthy relationships with people is the most daunting task to manage. It’s been very expensive as an independent artist budgeting and paying for recording, engineering, beats, mixing and mastering, cover art, distribution, and more, it can make anyone want to take A different road. It’s also hard to deal with criticism, you have to believe in yourself, respect criticism that is constructive, and keep being your biggest fan!!!!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As an artist, I am known most for bringing people together! I love to see people win! I’m very genuine and believe talents should be flaunted and admired! It’s a blessing to be able to artistically express yourself.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
