Conversations with Lamia Pierce

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lamia Pierce

Hi LaMia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started writing as a litte girl when my grandmother brought me my very first diary. What I did not know then that I know now is that writing would be the tool to turn my pain into power. Being a survivor of trauma from an early, being able to document my emotions and thoughts even my secrets became my secret garden. God had a plan all along and my gift to the world, to heal others would come through my written words. As I continue to navigate life’s storms, I’ve found part of my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I am a self published Indie Author and my love for writing has inspired me to create my very own stationery line of healing tools (journals, notebooks, affirmation cards and more).

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Boy, oh boy has this journey had its up and downs and turn around! What does a smooth road feel like? Lol
Some of the struggles I’ve faced and continue to overcome if I’m being honest are my own thoughts. I struggle sometimes with the spirit of comparison especially with other writers, authors and creators. My writing style is truthful, authenticity without any filters and sometimes that can be a challenge because I am sharing my truths, raw and unadulterated. Also, finding the balance in not oversharing and not offending others that are involved in my story.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
am a writer, author, and the founder of One Planted Seed Stationery, a brand dedicated to inspiring women to plant seeds of self-discovery and growth through journaling and writing. My passion lies in empowering women to heal and transform their lives by tapping into the power of words. As a writing coach, I created Voices of Victory: A Healing Words Collective, a coaching program for women who want to write and share their stories while navigating their own journeys of healing.

I specialize in intuitive writing and encourage my clients to write from the heart, creating narratives that reflect their true selves. This approach has helped many women who are healing from childhood traumas, toxic relationships, grief, and other life challenges to find their voices and embrace their stories unapologetically.

As an author of She Writes from the Heart, I have also built a space for myself as a writer deeply connected to themes of self-love, recovery from toxic relationships, and spiritual growth. My work is inspired by my own journey of transformation and rooted in spiritual teachings and self-reflection.

What sets me apart is my ability to weave authenticity and vulnerability into my work while maintaining a focus on holistic healing and empowerment. My work is not just about writing; it’s about creating a sanctuary where women can process their emotions, find clarity, and reconnect with their power.

I am most proud of the ways my work has impacted others—whether through a healing journal prompt, a poem that resonates, or guiding a woman to complete her first manuscript. Helping women see the beauty in their stories and find strength in their voices is my greatest reward.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has played an interesting role in my life and business, but I believe it’s often the intersection of preparation and opportunity that feels like luck. Looking back, there have been moments that seemed like bad luck—setbacks, disappointments, or unexpected challenges. However, those experiences became catalysts for growth and redirection. What felt like obstacles at the time were often necessary for me to realign with my true purpose.

For instance, struggles in my personal life pushed me to embrace writing not just as a creative outlet but as a tool for healing and transformation. These challenges inspired the creation of my One Planted Seed Stationery brand and my writing coaching programs. They taught me resilience, perseverance, and the value of being in tune with my inner voice.

On the other hand, I’ve also experienced what I’d call good luck. Meeting the right people, being introduced to opportunities that aligned perfectly with my vision, and having moments of divine timing have all played a role. However, I see these moments not just as luck but as blessings that arose from staying true to my passion, remaining open to new possibilities, and trusting the process even when things felt uncertain.

Ultimately, luck—whether perceived as good or bad—has been a teacher. It’s shown me that every experience serves a purpose and has brought me closer to the work and life I feel called to create.
