Conversations with Larry NUFACE Compton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Larry NUFACE Compton.

Hi Larry NUFACE , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?

NUFACE: The Hip-Hop Historian

NUFACE isn’t just a name—it’s a time capsule. Born with the rhythm of the culture and raised in the golden era of hip-hop, NUFACE has become a living archive of the movement, capturing its pulse one artifact, concert, and moment at a time. As a passionate collector, historian, and storyteller, NUFACE has dedicated his life to preserving the culture, curating rare memorabilia, and showcasing the untold stories behind the music.

From backstage passes to one-of-a-kind items signed by legends, his collection—called NUSTALGIA—has been showcased at major events like the Rock the Bells Cruise and the 85 South Show live at the Fox Theatre. But NUFACE isn’t just behind the scenes—he’s in the field, documenting, connecting, and bridging generations through his brand #NUFACEWasThere.

Whether it’s curating exhibits, producing interviews with icons like Fabo and Raphael Saadiq, or creating new hip-hop content series, NUFACE brings receipts. His journey is about more than nostalgia—it’s about legacy, storytelling, and making sure hip-hop’s past has a voice in its

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’m
If outside was a person .So it comes with not being home a lot sacrificing time with family .I don’t have a job job so I’m dependent on what opportunities I produce for myself so faith and believing in myself is essential

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in being there for hip hops most cultural moments ,showing artist how much they are appreciated .Being apart of the first ever hip hop cruise showcasing my collection was a proud moment

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5–10 years, I see the industry becoming even more independent and creator-driven. Artists are realizing the power of ownership—of their masters, their likeness, their stories. Technology’s only gonna make that easier, from blockchain to AI, giving artists more control over how their art is distributed and monetized.

But more than just the music, I think the culture’s gonna lean heavy into storytelling. That’s where people like me come in—historians, curators, collectors. Folks want to feel something again. They want to see where this came from, who paved the way, and how it connects to now. So I see a wave of hip-hop museums, pop-ups, documentaries, and platforms that blend education with entertainment. People don’t just want content—they want context.

And as long as we keep honoring the past while pushing the future, the culture’s in good hands.
