Saditty Scrubs was launched during the pandemic in October 2020. As a Nurse, the fashion industry has always been my passion, but God saw fit otherwise. Working in the medical field over 10+ years, I was required to wear scrubs daily. I despised wearing “boring scrubs.” I would add accessories, jacket or scarf here and there to “jazz them up,” but that still didn’t set me apart from everyone else that was required to wear the same frumpy, oversized, unisex scrubs that we were required to wear. Which ultimately led to me researching different fabrics, styles, and designing some of my own scrubs. That’s when I came up with the name Saditty Scrubs (S) ucessful (A) mbitous (D) ynamic (I) nspiring (T) rustworty (T) alented (Y) oungatheart. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I financed my business 100 percent out of pocket.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in Geriatric Nursing. I enjoy it most days. On the not so enjoyable days, I think about my family, my future and how I would like for them/me to be cared for. On the business side our unique custom styles that set us apart include some of our trendy styles: The Stacked Joggers are one of our most popular sets, as well as The Scrub Romper. Customers love trends and new styles so we do our best to offer what they want.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Being active and getting the brand across different platforms and social media has worked thus far. Some better than others. When networking, you have to take the good with the bad and know that this is business. With that being said, there will be competition, betrayal, ups and downs. This is the realest quote I’ve ever heard “strangers will support you more than family and friends”.
