Hi Latoya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a New York native who resides in Atlanta, Georgia. The joy of putting random thoughts to paper became a hobby at an early age. As an adult, I decided to take my childhood hobby to the next level by releasing my first novel! Now turning everyday trials and tribulations into stories, I write to capture unforgettable moments for the reader’s inquisitive mind.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey to becoming a published author wasn’t a smooth road; plenty of potholes along the way! Between battling writer’s block, stumbling across financial setbacks and putting together a profound marketing strategy, things have been very challenging.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Outside of being an author. I’ve had the honor of working with Total Media Group as an assistant production manager in the thriving hair industry for over 10yrs. My creative expertise consists of marketing, sales, brand building and production for major companies and celebrity clients. The ability to swiftly create under unexpected circumstances with phenomenal results sets me apart from the crowd! Nevertheless, the launch of my first novel, ‘Surrender’ is what I’m most proud of!
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
When seeking to achieve successful results in you’re line of work, finding a mentor is an essential necessity. Guidance from someone who already been where your trying to go is a definite plus! Never be ashamed to reach out for further advancement.
