Conversations with Lauren Chappell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Chappell.

Lauren, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my graphic design journey when I was in high school. I took every graphic design class my school had to offer. Because I took those classes, I knew that I wanted to go in to a creative career. When I first began college I was a graphic design major at a school in California.

After my second year of college, I transferred back home to Atlanta. When I started at my new school, I felt like I already gained a lot of knowledge in the graphic design area. So, I decided to switch my major to photography. At the time, my intention was to use photography to expand my graphic design work and have the two play off of each other. However, I never knew that I would love photography more than graphic design, so I began to focus just on photography.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been too bumpy since I am just now getting my start. However, my biggest challenge so far has been trying to gain clients. I am new to the industry, and I have found it difficult getting my name out there. To overcome this, I have been reaching out to brands and potential clients myself rather than waiting for them to come to me. But, I have also been utilizing social media platforms more. Not just Instagram, but linked in and Kavyar as well.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I would say that I am inspired by femininity and the confidence of women. I like to bring soft neutral tones to life while being able to tell a story. I specialize in lifestyle photography as well as helping brands create content for their social media platforms. Not only do I create content, but I do social media managing as well. Lately, I have started working more with models to help them create work for their books. In the future, I would love to work with brands on campaigns and have more of a creator director role.

My attention to detail is what sets me apart. I believe the attention to detail is what produces quality.
