Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Bell
Hi Lindsey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I love being a photographer. It has truly changed my entire life. As an introvert at heart, I feel as though God has led me directly to this passion. I started doing photography in 2016 while I was in college pursuing a degree in the medical field. In 2017, I jumped straight into the wedding industry & absolutely fell in love with photographing weddings & couples. I worked for a wedding photography company doing weddings & elopements all over North Georgia. God paved the way to so many amazing opportunities that gave me so much experience very early on into my career. In 2018, I graduated college and had a full time job in the medical field but was still doing weddings on the weekends too. In 2021, I decided to start my own photography company Lindsey Bell Photo. I worked really hard for the next 2 years growing my side hustle. In 2023, I started feeling a shift in my heart of what I wanted in my life. After several months of praying, I realized that God was wanting me to take this side hustle of mine full time. At this point in my life, I was absolutely terrified to take this leap of faith, My husband & I had just bought our very first home & my photography business was not exactly where I needed it to be to be full time. In September of 2023, I decided to put all my trust in God & I resigned from my job in the medical field. I only had 4 weddings booked for 2024 at the time but I felt it in my soul that this is what God wanted me to do. So I did it. It is now October of 2024 and I have already photographed 28 weddings this year. Although these numbers may not seem like much to someone else but for me it is a testament of what God did in my life because I trusted him. I still have 9 more weddings to photograph this year & am currently booking for 2025 too. I truly love this life and am so thankful I took the leap when I did. Ephesians 4:1.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Even while working your dream job, there will always be challenges & obstacles you have to face along the way. I think one of the biggest challenges for me has been navigating a work life balance. Since this is my full time job, it can be hard to not work super long hours or even take a day off here & there! This is something that I am definitely trying to be more intentional about in the future.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in weddings, elopements & couples photography! This will be my 9th year photographing weddings. I have always loved capturing love. There is something so special about getting to document each couple’s unique story. I strive to make them feel loved, comfortable and beautiful in front of my camera. I know having a camera in front of you can feel so intimidating especially if it’s the first time. I want to create a gallery that you can feel the warmth, love & joy through my art. I love to create a lot of movement so that sessions can feel effortless & fun. I have grown a lot within the last year & I will never stop trying to learn and grow more.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I think one of the biggest lessons has been learning to fully put my trust in God. When things do not work out the way I want it to, I look at it as God’s protection. There is busy seasons and slow seasons. I am learning that both have a purpose. We are not engines. Our bodies need to rest and recharge. Everything happens for a reason. It can be difficult sometimes to not stress about things and fully lay it all at his feet.
