Conversations with Logan H. James

Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan H. James. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Logan H. James is a father, an artist, an actor, a philanthropist, a motivational speaker and a businessman. He is a man of the people, for the people. Logan creates marketing strategies and plans for those who require innovated ideas and concepts for their brands.

But that’s not where his journey began. He started as a photographer and videographer in college. As he refined and perfected his skills, it afforded him the opportunity to travel all across the country. He started meeting as well as networking with people. However, as Logan developed his eye behind the lens, he realized that he should be in front of the camera and not behind it.

He transitioned from photography and became an actor. Logan’s first start was in the movie, “Hood Dreams.” This opportunity provided him notoriety as a celebrity in his hometown of Baltimore City. Shortly after, he began securing bookings and hosting events. He hosted the Shawn Porter vs. Danny Garcia after-party event at the Barclays Center’s Billboard Lounge in Brooklyn, NY. Logan has always felt that he could do anything he set his mind to and as his creative juices craved something more, he decided that he wanted to be an MC. Logan currently has a single entitled, “For Real For Real” which can be heard on all streaming and digital platforms. Combining all his talents, Logan has been able to capitalize on his ability to brand himself as an artist. And although he is vastly working on marketing himself, he has fortified brands to assist with marketing themselves.

As the CEO of Renaissance Marketing Logan has the knack for connecting the dots in addition to getting his clients placements in front the right people and in the right places. Whether it be television placements or brand awareness, Logan helps his clients tell the story about their brand which they always wanted to tell and does it in a way that the masses understand who and what they do. Some of the services his company offers is billboard placements, Hulu ads, Comcast commercials, blogs, press releases and ad placement.

Professionally, Logan is passionate about connecting with people and helping to bring their vision to fruition. He loves to see when people begin to notice the greatness within themselves that he already saw in them. Logan is personally motivated by family-building and nation-building.

He attributes his hard work ethic and dedication to his father, and he is also influenced by Jay Z, Dame Dash and J. Cole just to name a few. Logan has worked with designer Stevie Boi (photography), Shampoo of Def Jam Promotions (marketing and advertising) and Gorilla Zoe (artist) and the roster continues to grow.

When Logan is not on tour, acting or helping build brands, he is playing video games and spending time with friends and family. Logan wants to be remembered as the man that helped shape a nation of greatness.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We’ve had our fair share of obstacles such as merchandise being stolen. Trying to figure out how to pay for everything you know financially. But through the right guidance and the right team, we’ve been able to move around those obstacles and go over those hurdles relatively smoothly just because we have a team. For most artists, it gets a little tough because of lack of team and support but because we have a strong business behind us, we made it a lot easier to be able to navigate.

For me, being in the industry as long as I have I understood that we were going to have our own woes and we would see some things that we haven’t seen before with other artists. So I learned how to navigate through that by working with my crew and with my team. And now we’re seeing the fruits of their labor and the benefits.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So, one thing I know that sets me apart from others and I’m really known for is my work ethic, but also my marketing. The crazy part is we haven’t even really started, we’re just starting the marketing process. Well, we’re starting the advertising process now. A lot of people have known me for years, but I’ve never known what I’m what I do. And I think that mystery has affected my brand in a positive and negative way because people don’t know what they can say what you can do. Sometimes it’s like, “I don’t know if we can vouch for him” but at the same time, but you got people that know like, “Bro, this dude has been around for a long time. I’ve done work with him. What would he do for you? Or he did this for me. And it’s like, oh, well, this guy he does a lot” but really, no, I just support a lot of people who support me to be able to continue to do what I do.

And I think that the one thing that I’m like the most proud of is to be able to play a part of something that is way bigger than just one person. And to be able to be respected in that space while doing what I love, which is just entertaining people and getting other people the opportunities that I have been blessed with to be able to extend to others.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Watching my cousin Boe and his rap group.
