Conversations with Malcolm “King Teddy” Woodson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Malcolm ” King Teddy” Woodson.

Hi Malcolm “King Teddy”, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia at Georgia Baptist Hospital when I was 18 years old I was diagnosed with asperger’s syndrome also known as high function autism and when I found out that I had that I was devastated at first I saw it as a curse and unfortunately, I became the butt of people jokes I never really graduated from high school I graduated with a special education diploma but over the years I learned that autism is my superpower and I now use my story to help others like me.

Some of the things I have accomplished are:
Being the first Autistic Fulton County Grand Juror
First Autistic Student to graduate from Arkansas Baptist College
Appearance in The World Series Parade
And more.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has been all fun and games because I had a disability like I said earlier I was the butt of people jokes when I was younger I was already being mistreated for my speech impediment but when I told people I was autistic I thought that the mistreatment would stop but I was wrong. I thought I was a loser and I didn’t live what I was what people were doing to me and saying about me made me feel like I wasn’t worthy and unloved, I even have people tell me to end my life because I don’t have value and I am not important and I thought about doing that and even try to take my own life because I didn’t want to suffer the beatings and bullying that I have received but god has other plans for me he told her that I wasn’t what people said I was and I am fearfully and wonderfully made and he had a purpose for my life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am currently in the process of creating a nonprofit organization called See The Able And Not The Label Inc. This will be an organization where I will work with the community and other autism organizations and help kids with autism and other disabilities get the love and support and treatment that we deserve and that has been long overdue and See The Able And Not The Label will also help make an impact and help kids with autism follow their dreams and proven that your disability doesn’t define you I am also currently writing three books one of them called poetry in motion cool vibes by king teddy which a poetry book that will come out later this year and I am also writing autism is my superpower what having a different ability had thought me which will be released in a couple of years.

I am known for being the king of impact and the voice of the autism community and what sets me apart from others is that I can come with things that others people can’t right away and I am very good at making an impact and changing lives I am unforgettable and I am a guy who people love to be around because I am not afraid to be myself and what set me apart is I am a real life looney tune and I am not afraid to show it. I also hosted my very own series on youtube with my friend the Teddy and Stro show including a good review show called Eats In The Streets where we go around with some of our celebrity friends and reviewed different restaurants in Atlanta. I am most proud of how far I have come and what god is doing through me and for me.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My Family (They have always been there for me and always have my back; they are my biggest cheerleader and support system especially my mom)

God (enough said)

My Church Family and my Friends at Georgia State University (They are always there when I need them and I can count on them to be there for me and they love me for me; this includes everyone at Georgia State University).

My best friends Jalen Jokelia and Charrine (I have been friends with these three since 6th grade and we are still going strong).

My right-hand man Robert aka Stro (This man is the GOAT he the reason why I was able to get out of my comfort zone and I am able to make an impact; he has always been there for me and I wouldn’t be King Teddy without him he is my best friend and my brother.

My old bandmates and friends at my Arkansas Baptist College.

John Cena (He inspires me every day to never give up and follow your dreams and he is my hero).

My Slutty Vegan Family.

My Bethel Campus Fellowship and My GSU Soul Family and my The Living Room family (Words can’t explain how much they meant to me and how much I love them.

And the Whole Bear Cave.

And more that I can’t put all on here.
