Today we’d like to introduce you to Marty Mayes.
Hi Marty, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

I am Marty Mayes. 26 years old, born and raised in the great city of Griffin, Georgia, and the founder of the Purposed Movement, which is a multi-generational bible study group.
Getting to where I am today, personally and spiritually, even with Purposed Movement came from my faith in God. I came from a family that wasn’t perfect but definitely built on faith in God. My Granny had me in church every Sunday growing up, evening doing bible study lessons during the week. She really taught us how to really believe and trust God. Has it been easy? Absolutely not! I have definitely had my share of “hard times” in 26 1/2 years, when I say I have a story to tell – I have a STORY. But through everything, I always knew God had called me for something different. I just decided one day to go after Him, to find out why He came after me – in that, I discovered my purpose.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been an easy road, but I am learning to appreciate everything that God has used along the way to make me who I am. From financial struggles – when I say broke, I mean broke, from struggles of abuse as a young boy, from struggles with people, from struggles with self – I’ve been through it all. It`s those struggles, that help sharing Jesus with others more relevant and transparent.
I couldn’t see at the time, but I realize now why it all had to happen. Did it feel fair? No! Along the way, it has taught me not to despise what God uses on the journey, because it all works for the good. You just have to keep going until you reach the good part.

Purposed Movement, is a multi-generational bible study group and movement created to simply help others discover their purpose, learn more about Jesus, and provide the necessary resources to help others reach their full potential.
Many of us live our entire life searching everywhere to find happiness, but our truest place of fulfillment is found doing and being exactly who you’ve been created to be. Until you walk in your purpose, you will always feel some sort of emptiness or unhappiness in life – and the way to discover purpose is through the one who created you! The more you seek him, the more you discover you!
And that is what Purposed Movement is about – building people, discovering purpose, and expanding the Kingdom. We meet every Thursday night at 7:00pm in Griffin, GA.
