Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Pombares.

Mary, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I fell in love with event planning and designing when I started planning my own wedding 16 years ago. I was involved in every step, from choosing the event venue, linens, flowers to booking an aerial fireworks display and a horse and carriage. Like any other bride, I wanted my special day to be magical, glamorous and most importantly memorable.

Although I had a wedding planner, I was very hands on and truly enjoyed the planning stages of the wedding celebration, so much so that I decided, shortly after my wedding day, to open an event planning and designing company. I had realized that I had a natural ability and talent for event planning and that if I did a great job I’d help bring joy to others.

I began slowly and with small, elegant, outdoor picnics and then progressed to planning weddings for up to five hundred people.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road was definitely not smooth and it became particularly challenging after I started having kids and had to juggle between motherhood, a corporate job and planning big and elaborate events that required a lot of my time and commitment. Consequently, I decided to halt the wedding planning business temporarily until I was better able to find the right balance between the different roles I was occupying and this passion I had recently discovered.

Subsequently, I decided to shift my attention to smaller but still glamorous and memorable events and that’s how the teepee business was born! I was able to continue doing what I do best which is using my planning skills and creativity to provide customers with unique and memorable events but at a smaller scale. We started in Orlando and were quickly able to expand the business to Atlanta and surrounding areas while maintaining a steady flow of customers and revenue, despite the pandemic.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My company is called LM Teepee Parties (Lifetime Memories Teepee Parties) and it was founded right before the pandemic in November 2019. We specialize in all types of teepee events from kids and adults sleepovers to outdoors/beach picnics. I am particularly proud of the fact that we are able to provide personable services and very unique experiences to our customers with great attention to detail and the aim of exceeding expectations. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons the business continues to grow.

Our Teepee Parties are the perfect way to celebrate with loved ones. The average packages come with a set of decorations that cater to 6+ people, small enough for the perfect intimate event. We do birthdays, engagements, small weddings, and more. It’s also ideal for proposing at a park or beach or to have a ladies night in away from kids. The possibilities are endless!
