Hi Maurice, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started as a young poet / handyman. Expressing myself thru arts, music then fashion! First, it was just art then music then became a barber then hairstylist. To now which I believe I am one of the most remarkable fashion designers ever. Self-funded and has the testimony to reflect the journey. I had to overcome the federal correctional system and the streets. As a black man, the odds are stacked but so are the opportunities! Being a barber opened the doors for other trades that I’ve collected along the way. Opening up other businesses and trying to create products and services that contribute to the uplifting of humanity. I’ve been an appliance technician behind the scenes servicing various communities spending from Alabama-Georgia. There’s much we have to do in life and MBG, MY BRAND IS THE VEHICLE THAT WE will use to go global and bring our resources to those around the world. To this day MBG OFFERS MANY fundraising campaigns for people disabled, mentally challenged of course our eyes are always concerned with the rehabilitation of the incarcerated. We plan to start a tech company for some society issues and keep making a difference worldwide. we love you and thank you all #MBG
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have chosen the path less traveled. I stand in my own light! Though the darkness was piercing. First surviving federal penitentiary. Then surviving being shot by my barber that worked for me at the time. Losing my hero (my grandfather) because I never had a father per ‘se…which I have finally met my biological father after 31 years without him… and now cultivating that bond. Also having my children kept from me. let’s just say the road has been exactly why my success and triumph is WELL DESERVED! and noble

I’m most proud of all those things I do I am overly passionate about them🤣.
What sets me apart is my Life experiences and wisdom I can relate to many walks and cultures of life I resonate with so many problems and people. I have the leadership and resiliency that is needed in the world. Most of all, I am an inventor of products and the best is yet to come.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Yes, the next 5-10 years, I see MBG being a global brand. A tech Company and powerhouse brand. partnerships across athletics, and innovation. The ideas and inventions I have can finally be materialized and the world can see why MBG was so influential and necessary to succeed.
