Today we’d like to introduce you to Misha V Stefanuk.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been involved in playing piano., composing and improvising. And as opportunities arose, i ended up playing and collaborating with some quite amazing artists.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s never easy to be a professional in the arts, there’s much competition, you have to act as artist, agent, promoter, tour agent, a recording engineer. It helps to develop a group of friends in business, people who support you and are there for you.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
One of the most exciting new projects for me is coming in April one show at the Velvet Note on April 12, and two shows at Smithgall Arts Center April 17 and 18, called Jazz at the Movies. An enchanting evening where iconic movie scores blend seamlessly with jazz improvisation—a captivating fusion that stirs cherished memories and sparks pure joy. This musical journey awakens nostalgia for those golden moments when life felt most vibrant and carefree. Arranged for string quartet combined with jazz combo, this is going to be most exciting!
What matters most to you?
Authenticity. Staying true to what music is about, keeping it alive and real.
