Conversations with Mozé

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mozé.

Hi Mozé, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Born in a small town in Greenwood, MS. I always knew music was my passion. Music is a form of therapy for me and it brings me so much peace when I feel unease. I knew someday I would pursue it but just didn’t know-how. Throughout my childhood, I would sing in a corner of the house. I felt no one would be able to hear me. I did this because I was so nervous to share my gift with anyone, even my family!

Once I reached a point in my life where I finally felt free and could do exactly what I imagined in my head, it was over. In 2018, I wrote a song from a personally experience that had me heartbroken. When I wrote this song, I had no idea that it would lead me a feature with Tiffany Evans. (you heard me) I remembered all the nights I would stay up late on my mom desktop watching Tiffany Evans on star search and being mesmerized by her talent and bravery. For her to bless me with a feature on a song I wrote felt like a full-circle moment for me!

I moved to Atlanta in 2019 chasing my dreams but just like most, life started to hit hard in 2020! I have had obstacle after obstacle but my final destination has and will always remain the same. My drive and hunger has increased and I’m ready to take over. No looking back or feeling sorry for myself anymore!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has never been easy for me! Like I said before, I had obstacle after obstacle stopping me from living my truth. From falling in love with someone and wanting to give up music for them or to feeling unworthy because the people who were close to me didn’t support me the way I felt they should have. I can even say not feeling like I was good enough to be seen in the space I dreamed about since I was a three years old kid was a reason most obstacles were hindering me to grow.

Most people would have never known because I kept all my emotions inside. Not wanting to be seen as weak was heavy on my mind, so I made sure that no one could ever know or even catch a glimpse of it on my face. I realized that all emotions make you stronger and not weak. Emotions can give you the courage to change those dreams into reality. I make sure that everything I do, I put all my emotion into it and give it my complete all!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My name is Mozé. I am a singer, songwriter, performer and it took me a while to admit that! I love to sing and write music and then bring those stories to life through performing. Although I have never performed live, I know when I do it will feel like I have been doing it for all my life. I am known for being extremely extra and being able to take that and make it work to my advantage is something I am really proud of! What sets me apart from others is the fact that there is no other artist out there that can offer what I’m offering. I feel I have a special quality that the mainstream industry craves! I am here to feed!

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising that most people I know might not know about me is my stage persona. Mozé the performer is completely different from the person they know. The person they know is the really chill, goofy type. Now Mozé the performer is the complete opposite and is very strong, aggressive and very sure of himself! Once I become more mainstream, it will be very interesting to see how they react to my stage persona. Hahaha

Make sure to stream my new song “Daddy” feat Tiffany Evans out now! on all platforms!!
