I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a recording artist from Douglas, Georgia, I’d be honest with you – my journey has had its ups and downs. There have been moments where it felt like the road was smooth sailing, and then suddenly, a storm would hit and I’d be forced to adapt and navigate through the challenges.

One of the biggest struggles I faced early on was finding my unique sound. As a small-town artist, I didn’t have access to the same resources or exposure as artists in bigger cities. I had to rely on my own creativity and determination to carve out my own path. It was tough, but it forced me to be innovative and experiment with different styles and genres until I found what worked for me.

Another struggle was overcoming self-doubt and imposter syndrome. As an artist, it’s easy to feel like you’re not good enough or that your music isn’t worthy of being heard. But I had to learn to silence that voice and trust in my abilities. I surrounded myself with people who believed in me, and that gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward.

Additionally, the music industry can be cutthroat, and as an artist from a smaller town, it can be tough to get noticed. I’ve faced rejection and disappointment, but I’ve also had to learn to take constructive feedback and use it to improve my craft.

However, despite these struggles, I’ve also experienced incredible moments of triumph. Seeing people connect with my music and hearing their stories about how it’s impacted their lives has been an incredible feeling.

Looking back, I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road by any means. But I’ve learned that the struggles are what make the triumphs so sweet. And if I’m being honest, those struggles have made me a stronger, more resilient artist. So, if you’re an aspiring artist from a small town like Douglas, Georgia, know that your unique perspective and experiences can be your greatest assets. Keep pushing forward, even when it gets tough – because the reward is worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
