Today we’d like to introduce you to Nuri And Navali Barnes
Nuri and Navali, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We started acting when we were just four years old as background actors on the TV series Atlanta, directed by the incredible Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino! From the moment we stepped on set, we were hooked—we absolutely loved the energy, the creativity, and the magic of bringing stories to life. That’s when we told our mom (mager) that we wanted to do more—no more background roles, we wanted to do something BIG. We dreamed of having our own show or movie where we were the Stars! We’re not there yet, but we’ve gone on to be apart of some amazing projects and we’ve worked with some incredible stars. And trust us—this is just the beginning!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course, the journey hasn’t always been easy. We’ve faced challenges like long audition processes, tough competition, and moments when things didn’t go as planned. There were times we got so close to booking a role, only for it to go to someone else. But instead of letting setbacks bring us down, they’ve only motivated us to work harder and stay focused on our goals.
Our motto is: “We Submit and We Forget.” It helps us stay focused on what we can control and not stress over what we can’t. While also allowing us to just be kids, enjoy life, and have fun in between our Next Big Opportunity!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re 9-year-old!
We act in TV shows, movies, and commercials, and we also have so much fun modeling and creating cool content for social media. Whether we’re on set, in front of the camera, or sharing our journey online, we always bring lots of energy, personality, and fun!
We’re super proud of all the hard work we’ve done while still staying on Honor Roll! Even when we’re on set or busy with other things, we make sure to get all our schoolwork done and stay focused. It’s not always easy, but we love learning and doing our best both in school and on set. Balancing everything can be tough, but we think it makes us even stronger!
What makes us unique is that we’re identical twins—our superpower! Being twins gives us a special bond and connection that really sets us apart. We love being able to share this journey together, support each other, and bring something extra to everything we do. Whether it’s acting, modeling, or sharing our lives online, our twin energy makes everything more fun and exciting!
