Conversations with Pamela Cooper

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Cooper.

Hi Pamela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in Clayton County, and ever since middle school, I’ve always had a natural drive to hustle and create opportunities for myself. My mother didn’t always have much, but I never liked feeling defeated—or seeing others around me in that position. That mindset pushed me to find creative ways to earn money, starting with selling snacks.

Every month, my family would attend community events where giveaways were held instead of items being thrown away. Knowing I had an entrepreneurial spirit, my relatives would save the most popular snacks for me to resell. Each day, I came home proud to be helping my mother and improving our situation, little by little.

That experience inspired me to start my own business in high school—Pam’s Candy Treats—where I began selling candy fruits and other sweets. I learned how to market my products within my environment, connecting with classmates and locals who truly enjoyed what I offered. Seeing people genuinely satisfied and craving my treats motivated me even more, encouraging me to pass out business cards and grow my brand.

When COVID-19 hit, my business faced challenges as social distancing and lock downs reduced in-person interactions. But after returning to school for my senior year, I used that setback as an opportunity to expand my menu and explore new ideas. I reinvented and grew from Pam’s Candy Treats to Pam’s Candy Treats & Electronics, offering a wider range of products that appealed to my audience.

Over time, I’ve had the chance to meet my inspirations and even see people from my city create reaction videos after tasting my treats for the first time. Watching my community support my business and enjoy what I create has brought me real joy and a sense of success.

This journey has shaped me into a young entrepreneur driven by passion, perseverance, and purpose.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced several challenges along the way that tested my determination and creativity. One of the biggest obstacles was learning how to balance school and business responsibilities. Starting out as a student entrepreneur meant managing time. Balancing homework, classes, and still making sure I could meet customer demand.

Financial limitations were another struggle early on. Growing up, resources were limited, so I often had to find innovative ways to keep my business running with what I had. Every sale mattered, and most of what I earned went right back into my business to help it grow.

Then came COVID-19, which created one of the toughest setbacks I’ve experienced. Social distancing and health restrictions caused a major decline in customers, and for a while, it felt like all my progress had come to a stop. But that period forced me to adapt, refocus, and find new ways to connect with people once things began to open back up.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
A business that started from a simple passion for selling snacks and bringing people joy through sweet treats. What began as selling candy fruits in high school has grown into a unique brand that combines creativity, flavor, and community connection. I specialize in crafting fun, flavorful candy treats that people can’t get enough of, while also offering newest apple electronics and trending accessories for cheap ranging from iPhones, Laptops, AirPods, Apple Watches, and more!

I’m best known for my signature candy fruits and the excitement they bring. People often tell me how much they enjoy the taste, presentation, and the nostalgic feeling my products create. It’s amazing to see customers post reaction videos, share my treats on social media, and spread the word beyond my city. That type of genuine support keeps me inspired.

I’m not your average dessert maker. While my menu features classics like Oreo-covered strawberries and cupcakes, I specialize in unique treats like candied-coated grapes & every fruit you can possible crave coated in your favorite crushed candy. That you won’t find in stores. Paired with delivery and a personal touch, I make every customer feel like part of the family. It’s this mix of originality, quality, and genuine connection that truly sets my brand apart.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5 to 10 years, I see my business growing into a recognized brand with multiple locations in shopping malls. Each store would showcase a unique mix of specialty fruits and electronics, creating a one-of-a-kind shopping experience for customers. I envision my brand not just selling products, but becoming a destination where creativity, convenience, and quality come together. Most importantly, I hope to build this growth alongside my biggest supporters, creating opportunities for collaboration and mutual inspiration as we continue to influence and connect with our community.
