Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Henry.
Hi Patricia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I joined Atlanta Caribbean Carnival several years ago. I started out as the treasurer/secretary then got voted in as President. Today I am currently the President and I have a team of eleven executive members. Our goal is to promote a broader awareness of the Caribbean Culture. Tourism is our main industry and we would like folks to visit the Caribbean and witness a true carnival.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, nothing good comes easy. There will be challenges, in everything we do. Some of the challenges we face are generating more sponsorship and working together as a Caribbean Community for the betterment of our culture.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Professionally, I am a Tax Accountant I work for a company based in New York. I am also the President of two non-profit organization in the Metro Atlanta Area. Atlanta Caribbean Carnival and Blessed Hands Generous Hearts.
How do you define success?
Success is being able to make an impact on important decisions in my life and my children’s life.
