Today we’d like to introduce you to Ray Deeb
Hi Ray, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Ray Deeb is a crooner who relishes singing songs by the likes of Michael Bublé, Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole and many other beautiful classics sung by various artists. Ray Deeb transforms all of his music into a unique and different style which will awaken new horizons for songs you loved in the past and currently enjoy. He has released three albums, the first self titled, “Ray Deeb”, the second album titled, “Ray Deeb : A Divine Christmas”, and his latest EP, “Ray Deeb : Loving Life”, released in 2023. All of his albums/EP’s are available on all streaming platforms.
Ray Deeb has been singing his entire life. His voice teacher in college begged him to become a vocalist as a profession, but Ray chose to become a Pediatrician first; while always pursuing his vocal career in conjunction with medicine. Ray has continued to sing in live performances and produce albums throughout his 30+ year medical career.
He has performed in several venues and special events all across metro Atlanta. In addition, he has performed live during his travels including Fort Lauderdale, San Antonio, on the Nile River in Egypt, cruising in Asia, Galápagos Islands, Vienna, and even on the continent of Antarctica.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a pediatrician for more than 30 years, medicine has been my primary focus. However, I have always pursued my vocal career aspirations all along this journey. In the last ten years I have had more time to discover and work with talented vocal coaches, pianists, and other musicians to help further my goals as a vocalist. Over the last five years, working less time as a physician has allowed me more time to pursue my musical career and to rehearse the hundreds of hours it takes to create a beautiful album.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I choose songs that have lyrics which can move me and others on many levels. That might include emotional, spiritual, and psychological levels. I sing to share messages with the world that have an impact on my life, my relationship with my husband and family and others. When I sing live, I truly feel the lyrics as I sing them to convey so many beautiful thoughts and meanings to others, and have my audience in turn also feel the message in the song. I am a crooner and in general, I love to sing love ballads as well as fun and upbeat songs that bring joy to myself and others.
I have a wide vocal range and a powerful vibrato. I am most proud of the fact that I have co-mingled my medical career with my musical career to bring joy in my life. As a pediatrician, many of my teenage patients have been streaming my music and also have come to my live performances here in Atlanta. Singing live for me, creates an energy where I can move people in a musical way that touches their hearts. Many times my audience has tears of joy while I sing and also tears of sorrow from lyrics that move us in various directions. I am a vocalist that feeds off the energy in my audience which enhances my live performances.
I am unique in the way I take a song and arrange it with my own creativity and style that sets it apart from other vocalists. I love it when an audience member comes to me after a show and says, “I have never heard that song sung this way. You moved me enormously”.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I feel there will be a larger impact with social media and various artists furthering their careers with different platforms However, I also feel that performing live will always be a gift that moves both the audience and the artist. The need to hear live music will remain.
