Today we’d like to introduce you to Savannah Ellis.
Hi Savannah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey into Boudoir back in April of 2018. It was hands down the best decision for my business. I started my photography career in 2017, I did all of the genres, weddings, newborns, families, etc. I just wasn’t in love with it. I was on Instagram one day and I saw a Boudoir Session with another Boudoir Photographer and I was so intrigued, I instantly fell in love with the genre. I got on my laptop and immediately made a Facebook group and page for Boudoir, at first, I started photographing just friends and family members and then it took off! When I started, I was worried that many people wouldn’t agree with the genre because it is so intimate and private, but I quickly realized that TONS of women loved it! I had tons of support and lots of interest! My business exploded. I went from 30 group members to 100 to now almost 6,000 members. I have met so many women in these past five years, I cant wait to see how the next five years go!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes, I wouldn’t say I have had many obstacles or challenges.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in professional Boudoir Photography here in Atlanta, GA, I started almost five years ago, and I couldn’t love it more! Lotus & Lace Boudoir Studio is known for its creativity, I LOVE to do styled Boudoir Sessions. We have 22 acres of private property where our studio is located which gives us the freedom to do whatever we want privately! We have done sessions outdoors with our wings many times, we have done glitter baths, we have shot at a plane hanger on private planes, we have gone to “abandoned buildings” which was really just an awesome wedding venue, we have worked with vintage cars and motorcycles, vintage video game consoles, and yes we even have kinky things like cuffs, collars, leg spreader bars, we have also played with honey, really anything you can think of we have probably already done it! I think that is what sets us apart the most!
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I wouldn’t say I have dealt with any major risks. The only risk was jumping into business for myself, there’s so many questions, so much learning and adapting that happens when you own your own business, but I would take that risk over and over everyday for my business because I love what I do so much.
