Today we’d like to introduce you to Selena Faye.
Hi Selena, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started doing makeup in 2017. I gained this talent as a hobby at first. Eventually, I grew to love it and decided I would get paid to do something that I love. I started practicing on those close to me first, then my clientele began to grow.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Right before I graduated college I was diagnosed with an auto immune disease, LUPUS. My disease began to worsen, and this led to me also developing kidney disease. I had to stop working for an entire year and I recently started back, despite having a disability. Kidney disease puts a damper on most of my day. My body shuts down completely. However, on those days that I’m feeling good, no one and nothing can stop me!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a makeup artist. I’m known for how well I FLEEK eyebrows and also for my speed.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Being that I have an autoimmune disease, my body in very vulnerable to other sicknesses. I try to remain safe and masked up when dealing with outsiders (clients).
