Conversations with Tamika Simpson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamika Simpson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
So intially I started my business after my mom passed my first business is my clothing brand no loyalty no love then I started erotic desires a Instagram boutique selling one of kind lingerie. Then initially made myself the face of my lingerie by putting my pictures on shirts and etc. My passion for street wear and intimate fashion is what drives me daily to want to do better along with even expanding and collaborating with other street brands and starting another business and branding them into two

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Nothing is ever a smooth road, I came across multiple crossroads when I wasn’t selling yet I stayed consistent with content posting or having trouble finding a good creative individual to help my clothing brand designs come to life. But one thing for sure and two things for certain I’m NO QUITTER

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My main job is being a single mom as well as a full time employee. I worked for the United States postal service for over 4 years until recently. I relocated from
ATL and now reside in Arizona but I’m still connected by my friends, and customers it is HOME it’s where it all started. And will forever continue
F.I.L.A

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Networking came kind of easy to me seeing I started off sub-promoting in 2007 era when club Miami was open I was living on Bankhead then, but the advice I will give anyone especially our youth is find a person or persons who are doing exactly what you want and on the spectrum you see yourself at. Reach out to them shoot a dm send an email ask if their looking for intern or maybe you can shadow them. When it comes to networking in Atlanta yes it’s all about who you know but it’s also getting out there in the field and putting your name out there your brand out there.
