Today we’d like to introduce you to Teddy Biassi.
Hi Teddy , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was first exposed to music in my house as a child. My parents had en extensive record collection with the big stereo setup that had, vinyl, tape and cd hooked up to the big speakers in the living room. Later, throughout my childhood my parents enrolled my younger brother and i into music lessons, and thats where it all kicked off. That passion grew into wanting to know the sonics of music and i started producing and recording when i was around 14 years old. Production grew into engineering and ive been doing it ever since.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like anything in life, the music industry is full of its ups and downs. I’d say the main struggle would be social presence. A lot of my clients have been through word of mouth and label presence. In a generation where social media is very important, having a busy schedule with balancing clients doesn’t leave much room to make content and promote. As an engineer, a lot of work is solo…so id say as engineers all together we should be willing to have some sort of team like artists do.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a professional recording and mixing engineer. I’m well known for my versatility, sound consistency and speed during sessions. I’m most proud of the records i’ve produced or engineered that have Platinum Certifications.
What sets me apart from others is my ability to work any artist of any genre, make them feel comfortable and be hands on with the record, while still being able to do my job as an engineer and make the song sound amazing.
What’s next?
My plans for the future is to be a studio owner myself. Throughout my years of producing and engineering, ive been privileged to work at some of the best studios in the world. Working in all these different studios has given me so much of a vivid vision and influence on how i’d want to design my own facility.
