Conversations with Tia Irvine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tia Irvine.

Tia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I officially started my business in October of 2018. One of my friends needed help with her bridal shower and I was #1 on her list to call. We are in the same sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and she noticed that I was creative while also being keen on the small details whenever we had sorority events. After the bridal shower was over, several of her family and friends came up to me asking for business cards and about my work. I explained to them that I was just helping out as one of her bridesmaids and that encouraged me to move forward with my business. Today, we’ve had the pleasure to plan events, big and small, and we are so excited about our upcoming events.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Right after I finished branding for my business in early 2019, I made a transition from Birmingham, AL to Atlanta. This was definitely a challenge because there is a large network of event planners in the Atlanta area, but I just reminded myself that my talent is truly one of a kind. Another challenge of course was COVID and business definitely slowed down but instead of giving up, we became really creative while also allowing our clients and their guests to stay safe by having virtual events or drive-by showers and parties. I’m grateful for those challenges and look at them as motivation because I was able to get through those challenges.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Timeless Events by Tia specializes in all events whether big or small. We strive to take your vision and ideas and make them into reality. We are also an innovative service, so if you don’t have any creative ideas for your event, we can present one-of-a-kind recommendations that are different and catered to the client. Recently, our most popular events have been wedding planning. As a newly engaged bride, I am passionate about wedding planning and every event surrounding the wedding such as the bridal shower or engagement party. While our most popular events are weddings, I would say my favorite event so far has been a marriage conference I had the pleasure of planning last August. It was different and we were able to provide a weekend of activities for the couples. I feel proud whenever I have a returning client and thankfully most of our clients have used our services more than once since we started. We are set apart from the other event planners because of our true southern hospitality and working with the client every step of the way to make their event a success.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
First, all of the credit for my business goes to God. I wouldn’t have stayed in this business without God and the support from my family and friends. I would love to give a special thank you to my fiancé, Rodrick Holloman, who has been there during the late nights and early mornings for each event we’ve had. I would also like to thank Lindsay Price with Ellpea Designs for helping me with creating my brand that truly captured the vision I had for my company.
