Today we’d like to introduce you to Toka Wilson.
Hi Toka, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been a spiritual person, driven by a deep-seated quest for understanding our individual and collective purposes as human beings. It was in the year 2020 that I stumbled upon the profound wisdom of Vedic Astrology, and from that moment, I delved headlong into an exploration of the Vedas and the intricate world of astrology, employing it as a powerful means to rediscover my true self.
Originally known as Jyotish, or “the science of light,” Vedic astrology is considered by many to be the eye of the Vedas because it is meant to provide guidance to individuals who feel lost or confused on their life’s journey. This transformative knowledge allowed me to channel my inquiry into purpose and values, ultimately converting my passion for astrology into a guiding instrument for my life’s voyage.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Learning Vedic astrology can be a rewarding but challenging endeavor. For me, the most challenging aspects of Jyotish were the complexity of the intricate system and learning how to interpret astrological charts. But I have the privilege of learning from the best. My Teacher’s name is Kali Shankar. Astrology of Kali Shankar sets itself apart from other Vedic astrology teachings in a remarkable way. He has given us and continues to share the practical aspect of Vedic astrology. Kali Shankar’s teachings provide a contemporary reinterpretation of the Vedas, perfectly customized to our current timeline and societal needs.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My area of expertise lies in natal charts and their interpretation as a means to unveil an individual’s Dharma. Dharma represents a person’s true life’s calling. Conversely, Adharma, its antonym, signifies the betrayal of your genuine purpose and duty. As my teacher often emphasizes, “Adharma will cost you”. This implies that deviating from your true purpose may lead to divine consequences. Staying true to your Dharma can protect you from misfortune, though it doesn’t guarantee happiness. Dharma is about doing what you’re supposed to do and following your true nature.
The natal chart provides a clear roadmap for understanding our Dharma and how we should go about it. It unveils the inherent talents that individuals are meant to offer and the most effective methods for showcasing them.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I want more people to know about my teacher Kali Shankar, because he is an incredible being. Based on years of his experience and accumulated knowledge, his astrology was adapted for the modern world and is changing the lives of thousands of people. He demystified the ancient knowledge, and thanks to him we now understand that there are no good or bad planetary positions, no good or bad horoscopes, no horoscopes of the poor or the rich.
