Conversations with Tonia Wilson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tonia Wilson.

Hi Tonia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I remember sitting at home watching my favorite show America’s top model now I’m a plus-size woman and I was like they don’t have enough plus-size women I want to be a model. It’s funny because that same day I said I wanted to be an actress too I was just venting so I remember I saw an audition for a play and Modeling on Facebook so I went didn’t have a clue what I was doing I just knew that I could do it. The Modeling gig I got. The audition for the play I didn’t but about a week or two later they gave me a very small parts and from that very small parts, they gave me a big apart before show date when I said it was amazing. It was on from there.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being an actress and model now it definitely was not easy you have to do whatever you have to to make it possible the long rehearsals for trying to get a ride to and from the trying to remember the lines to try to stay in character or if I’m in the correct character or if I’m absorbing what I supposed to do now for stage plays you have to rehearse more only because it’s live audience. Films you rehearse less and then the director could edit any mistakes I would prefer film better.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve been in this industry as an actress and model for about 10 years but I knew during the walk of the actress and model and that there was something else in me that I could be doing I always went to everyone else’s fashion shows and I knew in my heart that I can put together a fashion show with my own vision. So I came up with the name Sassy But Classy LLC. I then started doing auditions for models to be in my show, looked for artists, look for designers. I wanted to create a platform for all shapes sizes and nationalities I wanted to put on a show that when people leave they couldn’t wait for the next one and I can say by the grace of God I’ve had nine successful shows. I remember going to fashion shows and seeing the same things over and over again and I said I want to make sure that my fashion shows are different and that the audience will receive something different and exciting each time so they could remember how Sassy But Classy gets down. From there I became a casting director for different companies to bring on inspiring actors I make my own candles body scrub lip balms beard oil and more I want to be a woman that when I leave this world they can say she put her working and when she put a working she put it in with love
