Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony Kemp.
Hi Tony, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up I knew that if I was to do anything in life, it would be to impact someone’s life in any way possible. Although I didn’t fully understand how I was going to do that I always knew life would point me in the right direction and it did. During the duration of my BA tenure at Kennesaw State University, my major (Sociology) required me to do an internship (boys and girls club of Atlanta). This internship would be the place where I found my way to impact other people lives, which with the help of my co-workers I was able to find my niche so to speak. I remember before my work shifts I would meet clients at the park to train, and those 1st clients came directly from my co-workers who believed in me. They saw things in me that I couldn’t see at the time, and I thank them so much for opening up my eyes. That seed they planted created what we now know as HUSTLE UP ATHLETICS. A training company aiding in skill development for all ages. I then in 2018 decided to couple that with a motivational clothing line called COOL MOTIVATION NATION. I love motivating others to be the best version of themselves in any way possible, and I thought why not couple that with my passion for fashion.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all to say the least. As an entrepreneur it’s so much you need to know about how to properly run a business. What I have learned through this process, is that everyday is a day to learn something new. However, I do enjoy learning all the ins and out of my businesses because, one day I’ll be able to help others who want to take the same path I have. I just want to help others lives much easier, especially for the people who look like me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As far as my work I’m what you call a Youth Development Coach. A person who helps and aids children in any way possible to find themselves; ultimately, helping them find there sole purpose in life. In 2015 I then was able to formulate that and create my own Training Company called HUSTLE UP ATHLETICS. A company aiding in the skill development of kids in sports, but also in character and leadership as well.
In 2018 I then took my passion for fashion and created a motivational clothing line called Cool Motivation Nation. A clothing line that is predicated on motivating and inspiring the masses to be the best version of themselves.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Find an opportunity to work in an environment where you can learn from someone or people who are doing the things that you want to do. If possible do it for free, this way you will really gain the most out of the experience, because you will be working from a standpoint of im doing this for the love not for the money. This is when you will know where your true passion lies.
