Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Greathouse.
Hi Tori, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always loved photography and editing. As I was growing up, I started learning all the new apps and platforms to edit and got really into it. I saw one of my friends was selling his equipment for a great deal. I hopped right on that! I started doing just pictures of my own kids and sports photography and loved every minute of it. Everyone would ask me, “Can I pay you to take of my child?”. I started small and then gradually got into anything and everything that made money. I have been full force photography for a little over three years. I have captured so many incredible moments from proposal, engagement, wedding, baby announcements, maternity, newborn, family, events, and so much more! When I am not doing photography, I am working for Aflac full time, wrangling 4 beautiful children, and tackling it all with my husband of 11 years! We are so grateful and blessed to live the life we live and couldn’t do it without all the customers who keep me around!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has honestly been pretty smooth for the most part. I haven’t had any bad experiences and have been really enjoying every minute of it! Only obstacle I have is when I have to budget to purchase new camera gear! haha
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My business is not my only source of income; therefore, I am able to be more affordable than most. I have a large amount of repeat customers that have been coming to me since day one. I have watched them grow up, their children grow up, and their pets get old! I specialize in children. I can take an unhappy child and make them have the best time of their lives and get genuine smiles the entire session. I am most known for my family sessions and my sessions that include children. I am most proud of how far I have come with weddings. I have done over 35 weddings and it’s where I really let my creativity come to life. I think what sets me apart from others is that I really want to be affordable to the mom who wants pictures done more than one time a year. The mom that wants to document every stage of their child’s life. I also try my best to stay around a 14–18-day turnaround time!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson is that photography will last forever. I have lost really close members of my family and the only thing we have left to remember them by are the pictures we took of them. So get the pictures taken! and let me take them!!
