Hi Tr3y, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Tr3y Bills, a Soul Trap artist who blends R&B soul and trap influences to create a unique sound filled with emotion and truth. I was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, where I first discovered my love for music and started developing my sound and passion.
In 2013, I moved to Beaufort, South Carolina, where I continued to grow as an artist, perfecting my craft and building my vision. My journey hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has shaped my music and message. In 2023, I was noticed and officially signed to Billion Dollar Minds Entertainment (BDM Ent.), marking a major turning point in my career.
Now, I’m preparing to release my debut album, “From Pain to Blessings,” featuring my new single by the same name. My story is about transformation—turning struggle into strength and pain into purpose through music.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. My father wasn’t always around, and my mom had to raise nine of us on her own. That forced me to grow up and become a man earlier than expected. I’ve lost friends to the streets and dealt with a constant battle between good and evil — trying to stay focused while life pulled me in different directions. Those struggles built my character and became the foundation of my music. Every pain, every lesson, turned into motivation to keep pushing and share my story through my sound.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Soul Trap artist — my music is a mix of R&B, soul, and trap, built around real-life experiences and emotion. I use my sound to tell stories about pain, growth, and transformation. What I do goes beyond music — it’s about connecting with people who’ve been through the same struggles and showing them there’s a way out.
I’m most proud of how far I’ve come, staying true to myself through it all. Every song I create comes from something real I’ve lived or felt. What sets me apart is my authenticity — I don’t chase trends or try to sound like anyone else. My sound comes from the heart, and my goal is to turn pain into purpose while inspiring others to do the same.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Yes, I’ve taken a lot of risks to get where I am today — some I’d rather not go into detail about, but every one of them taught me something valuable. In this industry, taking risks is part of the journey. Sometimes you have to step out on faith and trust your vision, even when nobody else sees it. I believe risk-taking is what separates dreamers from doers. Every risk I’ve taken has helped me grow, build character, and bring me closer to my purpose.
