Conversations with Ty Goudy aka Sir Ty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ty Goudy aka Sir Ty.

Hi Sir Ty, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
What’s up Beautiful People, this is your boy Ty Goudy better known as Sir Ty*. I’m an Actor, Producer, and Content Creator. How did this all begin? God. I’ll start there. More times than often, I must let people know that God is my agent. I’m ever-so grateful to be on this journey we call life. I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA aka Marrero. I joined the U.S. Army at the tender age of 17. Germany was my 1st duty station, and I went to Iraq twice to serve my country. After coming back from war, I seen this post to audition for a LIVE theatre play. I wanted to try out and be involved. I got the role to play a Caucasian son. Let’s just say I was nominated for Best Actor in Europe that year. Once I returned to the States, I departed from the military and my 1st marriage. I then moved to Atlanta, GA in 2011 to pursue acting and modeling full-time while enrolled in college. I attended and graduated from The Art Institute of Atlanta with a degree in Video Production. I was booking stage plays left and right. I starred in “When The Sin Hits The Fan” Tillervision Productions and “DivaRella” Ty Martin Studios to name a few.

I also did background work for many TV shows that were out during that time. While in college, I decided to launch my own Online Talk Show entitled The Sir Ty Experience. During this time, I would have in-studio interviews with the likes of “Braxton Family Values” star Andre Carter and Grammy Award winner Eshe from Arrested Development. Also, red carpet interviews to include: Toya Wright, Chrisette Michele, Sammie, Dionne Warwick, and Dr. Jackie from “Married to Medicine.” While sitting in class my professor, Ms. Mungo, handed me a large package and told me to fill it out. It was an internship for BET Networks. I received a callback and started production work on season 4 of “Let’s Stay Together.” It was a marvelous journey to be in college class and in that same day go to set and see it before my eyes. Working with Debbie Allen, BigBoi, Jackee Harris, and many more was a dream come true. I then graduated and they hired me on as an employee of BET Networks. I was thrilled to have landed my 1st real gig right out of college. I had opportunities to go to LA to pursue my career even further, but I couldn’t leave my kids, Prince Jordan and Prince Jonathan.

From 2013 to 2021, I moved back to Warner Robins, GA to make sure my fatherhood was present, visible to my kids, and established before I just declared I’m chasing my dreams. It was a huge sacrifice to press pause on a high-volume momentum career I was building at the time. But sometimes, a break, a pullback, and a reset is needed to really gain the knowledge of what matters the most. God told me that if ever stepped away from the industry, entertainment would always be here for me. Well, in 2021, I received a call from my bro Courtney Walker who was in the development of creating his own Reality TV Show and asked me to come on as a producer. A in month, I was promoted to Story Producer for the “Supper ClubATL” that will be premiering on iElevateTV. So, I would drive up 2 hours from Warner Robins to Atlanta to work and either drive back or lock in a hotel if it was multiple shooting days. This led me to relocate back to ATL at the top of 2022. I was back where it all started and was ready to work. My motto has always been, “Get in my way to Destiny if you want, I will knock you down and pray for you later.” -Dr. Will Moreland.

From there, I was booking acting gigs as well as production jobs. I was in two TV shows and a movie last year and worked on many sets. The movie is entitled “Life Without Hope. The New Chapters”, it will be out on Amazon Prime this month with Sullivan Productions. I guest starred in “Wicked City” on the AllBLK network with MegaMind Media. Also, I guest starred in “I Got A Story To Tell” on BET+ with Masterview Films. Then from in front of the camera to behind, worked with the likes of Clifton Powell, Cynthia Bailey, Iman Shumpert, and many more. My entire goal is to see everyone win. I now attend LS Studios Acting Class for my acting foundation. I am now in the creating and developing stage of my life for my OWN productions, so much to release so stand by. It’s N0T Over.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As I have stated before, NO! It has not and is not easy. In this industry because you will receive many no’s before a yes comes your way. I had to take a large pause to rear my wonderful sons, So it definitely comes with its challenges and sacrifices. There have been times where I didn’t book or get the roll and not only to deal with the rejection but bills had to be paid and a family to take care of. So it’s surely you looking at reality and then looking at yourself as a starving artist.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an Actor, Producer, and Content Creator. I would have to say that my most proud moment would have to be when I got the call for “Wicked City.” It was the day of. An actor was a no show and they called me. I got the script while on the way to set. Once there, I signed my contracts and went into hair and makeup and what you see on ALLBLK network is what was captured.

What sets me apart is that I’m ME. I handle my tasks properly and deliver with the spirit of excellence.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My legacy. My children make me happy and feel alive. 1st, there is nothing like unconditional love. Then having the title and crown as father. I’m grateful and humbled every time I see them. They are my WHY. Prince Jordan and Prince Jonathan push me beyond my normal. They light a fire in me that flames for higher and more. So yes, All Smiles.

I have known Ty Goudy for a little while now, and upon meeting him his energy was automatically received as good, wholesome and welcoming. He has extended his knowledge and assistance in any way that he could assist. If anyone asks me I wouldn’t have a problem speaking on his behalf in regards to the type of stand up guy he is. He loves his kids as stated in the article, nothing motivates him more and with good reason, that’s his legacy. Good good guy, shout out to “Sir Ty Goudy ! Keep going my brother.
