Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyrell Crowell.
Hi Tyrell, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started doing music two years ago seriously when I got signed to Authentic Empire for a 1-year management deal and a single deal. Which had me in ATL mostly in 2020-2021 with business ventures and etc. Thru the process of becoming a signed artist I started (LIL CROW LLC) which I turned myself the artist into a business.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The struggle in this music business especially independently, is learn the business and learning out to Financially survive. See, I have a wife and kids so being able to balance those was tuff. My background as an ex-professional basketball player helped a lot with understanding time management and family etc but the full-time difference between the music business and the basketball business is music takes more demand of hands-on attention.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So I just don’t make music, I am a co-host of my own radio show here in my hometown Baltimore along with my DJ (DJ DUKE) along with DMV TOP FASHION DESIGNERS (CLYOPATRA CONTOUR).
I also have my own personal app (OFFICIAL LIL CROW APP) in Apple Store and Google play.
The most proud thing is just seeing my self-elevation in this music and learning the business side. Also not to forget my debut album that was distributed by universal music group where I was rewarded a gold plaque for.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years I see myself like a diddy behind the scenes maybe building a business or have one of the top radio shows in the world. This media game I have built and met so many relationships with top ppl in the game it’s a motivation.
