Today we’d like to introduce you to Vee Henny.
Hi Vee, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Finding My Purpose Again: The Artistry of Vee Henny
I was younger than fourteen when I learned that writing music could save my life. At that age, I didn’t have the words for what I was feeling, the sadness, the confusion, the darkness that crept in when I thought no one could see me. I was suicidal and had nowhere to turn. But music became my therapy. Every lyric, every melody became a confession, a prayer, and a form of healing.
As time passed, life happened. I always knew there was more for me… I just didn’t know what it was yet. In my early twenties, a breakup broke more than my heart; it shattered my confidence. I stopped writing, stopped believing in myself, and convinced myself that maybe my dreams were too big.
Two years later, I came back. This time, I came back stronger. In 2015, I launched The Artistry Show, what started as a simple radio idea quickly evolved into a full-blown creative platform. I fell in love with storytelling again, not just my own, but other people’s. Every guest reminded me that struggle and success can coexist. From Gabe P of On the Radar, to social-media icons Chicklet and Maleni, comedian Nuevayol, hip-hop artist Lola Brooke, and influencer Nay Tali “New York Nay”. I’ve had the honor of sharing space with dreamers who turned pain into purpose.
Somewhere along the way, I forgot my own story. That’s what happens when you rely on others to believe in you instead of believing in yourself. There was a point when I almost gave up not just on The Artistry, but on me. It’s easy to give up on your purpose, to settle for comfort, to silence your passion because the world makes it seem safer to play small.
But 2025 changed everything.
I found my purpose again.
I remembered why I started to create, to heal, to connect. I learned to believe in myself again, to embrace every part of who I am the visionary, the artist, the storyteller, the chef. The Artistry isn’t just a show anymore it’s a reflection of my soul.
The difference now is simple:
I no longer wait for validation; I create it.
I no longer chase opportunities; I build them.
I no longer fear failure; I move with faith.
I am The Artistry.
A living example that purpose never dies it just waits for you to remember who you are.
So, if you’re reading this and feeling lost, hear me clearly: Your comeback starts the moment you choose yourself. Once you do, the universe will rearrange itself to meet you halfway.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. The past two years have been some of the hardest of my life. My career was falling apart, and in the process, I lost myself. I slipped into a deep depression, stopped appreciating the people I loved, stopped believing in my purpose, and eventually, I lost it all.
Starting over from scratch forced me to confront everything I had been running from. When you lose everything you love, it changes you. It humbles you. It makes you question who you are without the titles, the accomplishments, the noise.
I had to rebuild from the inside out. I had to look in the mirror and face my reflection, the pain, the mistakes, and the truth to finally learn how to love myself unconditionally. I had to stop waiting for others to believe in me and start believing in myself again. That was the real breakthrough.
Because when you find the courage to rebuild yourself, that’s when your purpose starts to rebuild with you.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a creative visionary, content creator, entrepreneur, chef and host of The Artistry Show, a platform that gives artists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries the space to share their stories authentically.
What I’m known for is my authenticity. I don’t just create content; I create connection. My platform has always been about storytelling, bringing people together through real conversations, laughter, and shared experiences. Over the years, I’ve interviewed an incredible range of talent, from industry names to rising voices, and I treat each story with the same level of respect and curiosity.
What I’m most proud of is my resilience. I’ve built The Artistry from the ground up; no shortcuts, no handouts, just passion, consistency, and purpose. Every setback taught me how to reinvent myself. Every loss taught me how to lead with heart.
My gift is creating spaces where people can be seen, heard, and inspired to believe in their own artistry.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was full of energy — hyper, curious, and always on the move. (I definitely think the ADHD was showing early on! lol) I loved being active playing sports, running around with the boys, climbing, jumping anything that felt adventurous. I was always getting hurt because I loved taking risks, but that was just part of my spirit.
Music was always a big part of my world, even before I realized it was therapy for me. I had a loud laugh, loved making people smile, and I was never afraid to be myself even if that meant being the “different” one. I think that fearless, curious kid is still in me today just more focused and creative now.
