Today we’d like to introduce you to William Taylor.
Hi William , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
231 Willafool — The Story
231 Willafool came out the mud with nothing but heart, hunger, and a chip on his shoulder.
He’s from a place where opportunities don’t knock — you gotta break the door down yourself.
The “231” isn’t random — it’s where he came from, the code that raised him, the environment that shaped him.
The “Willafool” isn’t a joke — it’s the personality: the one that laughs through pain, grinds through setbacks, and keeps pushing when everybody else folds.
You didn’t start rapping to look cool.
You started because music was the only thing that let you get the anger, the trauma, the pressure off your chest.
Every bar you spit comes from something real — losses, loyalty, betrayal, grind, ambition.
Your music isn’t polished industry fluff — it’s raw, emotional, street, and personal.
When people hear you, they hear someone who survived, someone who turned frustration into fuel.
And now you’re not chasing a dream.
You’re building a legacy — one track, one fan, one step at a time.
231 Willafool: the voice of the ones who feel overlooked but refuse to stay unseen.
Holding the City down as the Underground King in his hometown Montgomery Al.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has definitely not been smooth. Anyone who listens to my music or takes the time to read about me can hear the weight of what I’ve been through. I’ve dealt with people crossing me, spreading lies, and switching up at moments when I needed them the most. Those kinds of setbacks hit harder when they come from people you trusted.
At the same time, I was navigating the challenges of being an independent artist—limited resources, limited support, and having to build everything from the ground up.
But those experiences didn’t break me; they shaped me. They pushed me to grow, to stay focused, and to turn all that pain and frustration into something productive. The struggles taught me resilience, and they’re a big part of what gives my music its honesty and its edge.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As an artist and creative, I specialize in making music that’s driven by real experiences and authentic emotion. I’m known for turning the things I’ve lived through—the pain, the losses, the betrayals, and the wins—into a sound that connects with people on a deeper level. What I’m most proud of is that everything I create comes from a genuine place; nothing about my process is forced or manufactured.
What makes me different is my storytelling. I don’t just make music—I paint a picture of where I come from, what I’ve survived, and where I’m headed. My voice, my perspective, and the honesty in my work set me apart. I’m committed to being real with my audience, and that authenticity is what keeps people coming back to my music.”
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has played a role in my life, both good and bad, but I’ve learned not to depend on it. I’ve had moments where it felt like everything was working against me—wrong timing, bad breaks, people switching up, opportunities falling through at the last minute. Those experiences taught me how unpredictable life can be.
But I’ve also had moments of good luck—meeting the right person at the right time, getting support from unexpected places, or having my music reach someone who really connects with it.
At the end of the day though, I don’t build my career on luck. I build it on consistency, hard work, and faith. Luck comes and goes, but the grind is what keeps me moving forward. If luck shows up, great—but if it doesn’t, I’m still going to make progress
