Conversations with Yerly Ferreira

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yerly Ferreira.

Hi Yerly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began my real estate career nearly eight years ago, assisting another Realtor in her office. One day, I decided to pursue my Real Estate license so I could start working independently. It has now been six years since I obtained my license, giving me a total of eight years in this wonderful industry. During this time, I have had the privilege of helping the Hispanic community achieve their dreams and fulfill the American dream of homeownership.

Currently, I continue to work actively, and I have also expanded my practice to other locations. In Florida, I hold a license to buy and sell properties, and internationally I operate in Mexico—specifically in Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and throughout the Riviera Maya—as well as in the Dominican Republic.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been easy. Real estate is a complex field, as it involves financial transactions. Whether representing the buyer or the seller, one must ensure that everything is handled correctly. The Realtor essentially acts as the Manager of the Transaction.

The greatest challenge for me has been the language barrier. My English is at an intermediate level and has improved significantly. I am fortunate to have a bilingual assistant who supports me greatly. However, there are times when other Realtors prefer to speak directly with me rather than with her. Sometimes I understand perfectly, other times less so—especially when they come from different countries. (I take this as an internal joke and laugh at myself.)

One of my personal goals for 2026 is to complete my studies and further strengthen my English proficiency.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My primary profession is Industrial Engineering, having graduated from a university in Venezuela. Later, I pursued two master’s degrees in Argentina, one in International Logistics and the other in International Trade Relations.
I am currently a Real Estate Agent in the United States, licensed in both Georgia and Florida. I specialize in the purchase, sale, and investment of residential properties. Social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram have allowed me to connect with people, although I maintain accounts on other networks that I do not actively use.

I am the type of Realtor who remains by the client’s side throughout the entire process, guiding them step by step until closing. I am deeply involved in each transaction and never disappear; on the contrary, I am present to provide support and resolve any issues that may arise until the deal is finalized. I believe it is essential for a Realtor to be there, as the process can feel overwhelming—especially when financing through a bank, given the many documents required.

I take great pride in seeing individuals without immigration status transition from paying rent to becoming homeowners. It is an honor to help my Hispanic community achieve the dream of investing in this great country, contributing to the economy through real estate transactions.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The real estate industry is experiencing significant growth. In the past, people did not purchase as frequently as they do now, but today there are many more options for buying and investing. Banks have played a major role in supporting this trend. Within the next five years, the number of homeowners is expected to increase by 40 to 50 percent.

Additionally, more people are becoming interested in purchasing properties not only for personal use but also for rental purposes, particularly short-term rentals for tourists. The world is changing, and construction types are evolving as well, with many new developments emerging to meet the growing demand for homeownership.
