Conversations with Yasmin Rahimi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yasmin Rahimi.

Yasmin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up, I always knew what I wanted to be and that was to be someone who created things. Whether that was clothes, shoes, or jewelry. I have always loved fashion for as long as I can remember. I had a passion for designing clothes, which led me to start Couture for Charity, my non-profit that raises funds for breast cancer initiatives when I was 16 years old. After completing an internship with Saks Fifth Avenue’s jewelry department in NYC, I realized I also had a love for jewelry design. I started It’s Especially Lucky my senior year at UGA when I realized I could combine my love for styling, design and branding.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have been lucky enough to have a great support system in my family and friends. No idea or endeavor is too big and my loved ones are always rooting for me. With having that kind of support on my journey, I have been able to handle anything that has come my way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I design and create jewelry for women who love simple yet fun pieces. I have kept an overarching theme of the evil eye in many of my pieces. People love the meaning behind the evil eye which is to keep bad energy away. I am most proud of the loyal customer base that we have today. My favorite thing is seeing customers constantly returning to purchase new jewelry. I wanted to create jewelry that college students could afford without sacrificing quality. I feel as though college students think they have to settle because they have a smaller budget, but that should not be the case! You can have nice things without breaking the bank. Today It’s Especially Lucky is carried in nearly 50 boutiques nationwide!

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
With owning a small business, there are so many ways to show support! A simple like and share on social media goes a long way. I am always open to new ideas and collaborating and the best way to reach me is via Instagram or email! info@itsespeciallylucky.com
