Daily Inspiration: Meet A-List Papi

Today we’d like to introduce you to A-List Papi.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Music has always been in my life. I was kicked out of music class early. My music teacher was in a bad mood that day, I guess. Even til this day, I have a passion for live instrumentation of music but I chose the poetic approach. Casually sharpening my freestyle ability after a few family cookouts and just rapping with my people. They would always say I had the voice then it grew into you the one, you the one. Early fatherhood pretty much took over. Tried college twice, worked a lot of jobs, a few of my own businesses and took a tun of risk. My ultimate conclusion was to give my natural given ideas and abilities my full focus. Songwriting, stage performance and building my own brand. After one year total of consistent grinding in and around Atlanta, I’ve humbly exceeded my expectations. My single titled “always on a move (bag)” is available on all streaming platforms.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
First, I had to believe in myself and put in the work, the rest is learning to enjoy the process. Having to be my only supporter at times. Having to grow apart from creative associates. Having to be invited to perform only to not be called to the stage. Lol, it’s definitely been a struggle at times but it feels even better seeing a familiar face.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Full time I am A-List Papi, the brand. I take a lot of pride in being a father to my kids which I would like to think that’s all I am really known for. Along with my refusal to settle for failure. Every story is unique but the one of A-List Papi is one of originality and authenticity, trial and triumph.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Believing in myself no matter what is the most important lesson I’ve learned.
