Daily Inspiration: Meet Adrian Hughes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Hughes.

Hi Adrian , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from Ohio, and in 2019, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life—I packed up and moved to Atlanta to pursue my music career full-time. I didn’t know anyone there, and I didn’t have everything figured out, but I knew I couldn’t ignore the calling I felt inside. Music has been a part of my life since I was young, and I wanted to be in a city where I could grow, connect with other creatives, and really give myself a chance to succeed.

Since moving, I’ve been able to develop myself not only as an artist but also as a producer, writer, and vocal coach. Atlanta challenged me, but it also gave me the space to grow in ways I never imagined.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been easy. One of my biggest challenges has been staying motivated and focused even when things weren’t going well in my personal life. There were moments when my family was struggling back home, and I felt guilty for not being there. There were also financial hardships and times when I felt completely overlooked in the music industry.

But through those seasons, I learned to rely on God for strength. Whenever I felt too weak to keep going, prayer became my safe place. One scripture I held onto was Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” It reminded me that my purpose was bigger than my feelings. Those challenges actually shaped my work ethic and made me more resilient.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I wear a lot of hats in the music world. During the day, I work as a producer, songwriter, and vocal coach, helping other artists develop their sound and performance skills. At night, I focus on building my own career as a recording artist.

I literally eat, sleep, and breathe music. It’s not just a job for me—it’s who I am. I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve stayed committed to this craft even when it wasn’t glamorous or easy. One thing that sets me apart is that I would do this work even if I never made a dollar from it. That passion is what drives me to keep growing, experimenting, and pushing creative boundaries.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m always open to collaborating with other artists, producers, and creatives. The best way to connect with me is through my website, www.ayeje.com, where you can send me a message about your project or idea.

As far as supporting me, one of the biggest ways is simply by listening to my music and sharing your honest feedback. If you love a song, share it with someone else who might enjoy it. I believe music is meant to be experienced in community, and every bit of support helps me continue to do what I love.
