Daily Inspiration: Meet Adrian Lopez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Lopez.

Hi Adrian, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Adrian “Aiko” Lopez, I’m an artist by the name of “mortox.” I make music, I started off making small mixtapes on Soundcloud at the age of 14 with a small group of friends. Making music and art is something really serious for me and my friends around me. To me, it’s not just a hobby, but I still know how to make it fun so it never burns me out. My last mixtape, “LOVE25” dropped April 25, 2025. Me, personally: I think this is how a Spring Album should sound like, as it consists of R&B and Hip-Hop. It received a lot of great attention and feedback, and it inspired me to finally start creating my first, studio album: “MUSE”.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There’s been a lot of obstacles this year regarding Mental health, financial issues, and family. That obviously never stopped me though, it usually strengthens me more to become someone even more powerful, so when I look back I can be like “damn, I really overcame all that craziness AND i dropped one of the last biggest mixtapes during my struggles”. Life is definitely getting better, I see it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an artist, I’m really proud of how I can be so patient and never rush a creative project, “LOVE25” took 8 months for me to finish, a lot of the ideas came from the bedroom, with a lot of my friends helping me branch out and create even bigger pieces of music. I feel like I set apart from others because of my creative direction. I have a lot of ideas for each project I create, especially for LOVE25. I literally dyed my hair pink. It was fun, it was my first time doing Exposure Therapy and I definitely wanna do something like that again soon. I also came from listening to a lot of 2015-16 albums and how each one sounds different from others and why it sounds so great and holds up till this day. Their rollouts are really great too for that generation of music back then and I have an idea on how I could revive that really soon.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Don’t listen to anyone who talks down on you, and believe in yourself. You have an idea you want to share out? Talk about it, no matter how crazy it can sound, it can definitely be created sometime when you’re ready. I wish I did a lot more networking back then when I was starting out, even though I was self-taught, I was still pretty much by myself at the end of the day.
