Daily Inspiration: Meet Adrienne Thatcher

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Thatcher.

Adrienne Thatcher

Hi Adrienne, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, everyone! My name is Adrienne, although most people know me as Addie. I’m a 48-year-old individual who was born and raised in Fremont, Ohio. After completing my studies in advertising and marketing at Ohio University, I decided to take a break from the real world and embarked on an exciting adventure across Europe. It was an incredible experience that broadened my horizons and allowed me to explore different cultures.

Upon my return to the United States, I landed a job as a bartender at the Round House bar on South Bass Island in Put-In-Bay, Ohio. I spent the summer seasons there, serving drinks, enjoying my youth and vibrant island atmosphere. However, I had a deep desire for new experiences and decided to head south to Key West, Florida. I became a bartender at the famous Sloppy Joe’s bar and spent 5 unforgettable years there. Key West became my home for the next five years, and it holds a special place in my heart for the incredible memories, friendships, and good times I had there.

Eventually, life took me to Atlanta, Georgia. It was through a chance encounter with one of the bands that originated from Atlanta that I was convinced to give it a try. I decided to relocate, and it’s been my home for the past 16 years. Atlanta has provided me with a vibrant and diverse community, and I’ve had the opportunity to witness its rich music scene and cultural offerings.

Throughout my journey, I’ve learned to cherish the moments, people, and places that have shaped my life. Each chapter has brought its own adventures and lessons, and I’m grateful for the experiences that have made me who I am today. I look forward to what the future holds and the new stories waiting to be written.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve spent my 30’s and 40’s in doctors’ offices, hospitals, having surgeries, MRIs, Physical therapy, recovery, spine INJECTIONS, wearing a neck brace, external battery packs to “charge myself” (YEP), a reconstructed neck, leads in my spine, and over 12 surgeries. Oh, and I have been under anesthesia more times than awake. This led to depression, substance abuse, financial problems, and mental suffering. I worked, sometimes four jobs to pay for medical bills or save for the next deductible for surgery. I was LOST and I hid this WELL from my family and friends. I was in a deep dark place that had my mind thinking of terrible solutions.

To add to my depression, I would circle around wanting to have a family of my own. However, having kids? It’s not in the cards and I struggled with that A LOT. I would be asked all the time, “Why aren’t you married or have kids?”

I want things to change and don’t know how to do it.
It was time to stop feeling sorry for myself.

I was so tired of this vicious cycle of Hot and Cold with my happiness. After an amazing tour abroad, I would go back into a depression, self-medicate, close myself off, work to pay medical bills, cry all the time and feel sorry for myself. I never had a chance for anything romantic because I was physically unavailable, which made me emotionally unavailable. I lost a lot of friendships along the way which was debilitating and a struggle for a long time to understand.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
A former realtor of 15 years, I realized I could take my lifelong interest in energy and Feng Shui and, instead of buying and selling homes, assist my clients to align their homes for their highest benefit.

This isn’t ‘design to make it pretty’ Feng Shui; I am certified in Classical Flying Stars, the Compass school of Feng Shui, which requires the use of a compass to ensure an accurate reading for the home. When Feng Shui was introduced to the Western world back in the 90s, it was condensed, misconstrued, and altered to fit into the Western lifestyle. I call this fast food Feng Shui. The practice I use and teach, we believe that every home is unique, just like your thumbprint. Classical Flying Stars is an ancient Chinese practice dating back over 4,000. It is the most precise and oldest practice which uses the concept of time, the compass, the theory of Ying and Yang, Daoism, and the five elements of nature. This is not a religion, it’s not a phase; this is a lifestyle, a mindset, a change that ripples throughout your entire life. What you change in your home will reflect in your habits, in your career, and in your relationships to name a few. It’s a complete transformation of the mind, body, and spirit. I pride myself on teaching the correct foundations of Feng Shui to improve and enhance the quality of your life in all areas of your life

The biggest difference in schools is that I am able to provide your homes personalized Feng Shui home report. This is A detailed analysis of the energy flow within a home which identifies any areas that may be negatively impacting all occupants’ health, wealth, and relationships. I can help identify the unique needs and preferences of all the occupants and I can tailor their recommendations to the specific needs and preferences of the occupants, enhancing their overall well-being. The report is created by using The Bagua Map, which is overlaid onto the floor plan of the home, revealing the stamps and remedies required in each of the life sectors in your home.

Finally, this audit is your energetic blueprint providing you with the “prescription” of what remedies are required for the home. It can also help to identify potential problem areas and provide solutions to mitigate any negative influences and enhance the positive energy flow and create a home/space that is balanced and harmonized.

The biggest challenge for me and what I am proud of was learning how I would start my business once I was certified. Feng Shui was not going to be a hobby but my profession and passion! I was starting from scratch, learning how to become an entrepreneur. So while in FS certification, I signed up for online business school. Both schools were online and in different time zones, so I was setting my alarm all different hours to take my classes. Some days I had no idea what day or time it was until I put up four clocks set to all the different time zones I needed. I also was having surgeries and in recovery for most of this time.

However, the most challenging was taking both courses at the same. I slept, ate, and breathed Feng Shui and then craved to learn all about the business side of starting my business, including all the tech stuff I didn’t know. I stayed focused and was absent from parties, functions, travels and any other distractions that would have led me off course.

While working on Feng Shui case studies for certification, I was learning in business school was how to create an online business. I created my first online Beta course called “Empower Your Home/ Empower Your Life, a six-week online Feng Shui program. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but worth every moment of my trial and error, frustrations, failures, and dedication.

The Empower program: Every week on Monday morning, 4 short Feng Shui modules would be drip feed into emails for students to watch that week. There was weekly homework from that week’s lesson and every Thursday, I would do a live Q & A with the class. I also included bonus sessions with experts in their field: Astrologist, Chakra for business expert, a decluttering professional, and a mindset manifesting coach. Each student also received their home’s personalized Feng Shui report!

Next month I will be re-launching my Empower program for the third time. I have spent months revising, adding, conducting interviews, and improving the class modules.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
It took me years to realize my passion is Feng Shui and pursue it, no matter how hard the road would be.

Determination to connect to my own inner vision, my true path, and my purpose. To be healthy in mind and spirit and to be a source of inspiration for my family and friends.

I am passionate about Feng Shui and want to use these unique skills to spread joy in my perfect career while having all the clarity and excitement to make a difference in the world.

I believe the more you have, the more you have to give, which is why I am determined to live the life I am meant for, living financially free by creating a successful and growing business. I am intent in doing this so I can pursue my second passion, which is traveling doing humanitarian work, marine conservation, human trafficking, and working with animal rescue.
