Daily Inspiration: Meet Alejandra Meza

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alejandra Meza.

Hi Alejandra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started modeling back in 2017-2018. I had no idea how much I’d love it! I’ve always been really into fashion since I was young. I even wanted to go to fashion school a few years ago, but I ended up changing my mind. Looking back to my teenage years I would never think that I’d be modeling. It’s much more than just taking pictures. It’s planning out your outfits, doing your makeup, and accessorizing correctly and of course, setting the time aside to take the pictures! But most importantly, the reason why I started modeling is because I wouldn’t see as many women my size growing up. I wanted to be able to change that for others! It’s perfectly okay to be whatever size you are now. Even if you want to change it and lose weight, that’s fine too! I feel like everyone just has to learn to love the body we’re in. it’s the only one we have, so you might as well love it! I’m definitely nowhere near where I would like to be in the modeling industry but I have made a lot of progress and I’m grateful for that. Hopefully one day I’ll be a well-known model.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
honestly, like everything in life there’s always ups and downs. I feel like I was a very introverted shy girl, but modeling definitely challenges that. one thing I would hate would be when I’m taking pictures in public and people would stare. now at this point, it doesn’t faze me at all. it’s definitely changed me for the better.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What I’m most proud of is myself. I have grown so much. I’ve overcome so many obstacles, mainly ones I’ve created myself. I feel like I would make excuses or just not want to do something because of what others would think/or say. But at the end of the day, you should only want to make yourself proud.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love the most about our city is the culture. It is so diverse and welcoming. The food is also AMAZING!! Especially in downtown.
