Daily Inspiration: Meet Alexandria Pankey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandria Pankey.

Hi Alexandria, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I loving telling people that I have been an artist my whole life. I started out sketching and drawing all throughout grade school then started painting regularly while I was at the University of Tennessee. It started as a stress reliever and quickly became one of my favorite past times. My art business, Cosmic Creations, began when I started creating paddles and paintings for my sorority sisters then word of mouth led to the growth I have today. I specialize in custom paddles for Greek-lettered organizations, primarily the sororities and fraternities of the National Panhellenic Council.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The business side of my business has been a struggle for me over the years. I had to teach myself through trial and error how to effectively run my business and it definitely isn’t easy. I started out writing all of my orders and budget in a journal and now I have everything organized in multiple organizing apps.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in customized wooden paddles for Greek-lettered sororities and fraternities. My art business, Cosmic Creations, is known for creating paddles for the sororities and fraternities of the National PanHellenic Council. As of right now, I’ve customized 200 paddles since my genesis in 2016 and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Baking is another one of my hobbies that brings me happiness. I love taking family recipes and making them my own, then sharing my creations with my friends. In 2020, I illustrated my own cookbook filled with my favorite desserts that hold a special place in my heart.
