Daily Inspiration: Meet Alexis Brooks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Brooks

Hi Alexis, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started modeling in 2013, my freshman year of college at Valdosta State University. My college roommate asked if I wanted to join her modeling troupe & I spent months learning how to walk in heels and learning how to stride while walking on the runway. Learning those skills allowed me to be more confident as a person, confident while walking & striding in heels, and overall, how to entertain a crowd at a fashion show. From 2013 until now, I have participated in countless fashion shows, hair & beauty shows, TV tapings, expo events, live auctions, etc. Now in 2024, I am a professional runway and print model, looking to book work with brands, designers, photographers, and more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The modeling journey hasn’t been smooth and I don’t plan for it be. It took a lot of time, energy, having tough skin, learning “no” isn’t the end of the world, learning there are no friends in the industry, and the ability to ignore/avoid outside distractions.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work as a pricing analyst for a transportation company by day and a professional runway and print model after work and on weekends. I’m most proud of my drive, determination and dedication to becoming a professional booked runway and print model as well as allowing mistakes to happen along the way without being too hard on myself . I think that my drive, consistency, adaptability and great attitude allow me to be set apart from others.

Pricing:

  • $60/hr for print modeling
  • $75/hr for runway modeling
