Today we’d like to introduce you to Alissa Huber.
Hi Alissa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started a small craft business to satisfy the desire to create. I came up with the name, “Fabuliss Finds,” because I believe you can find something fabulous wherever you go in life and I can make art out of something small and mundane to make it fabulous. I created painted crab shells and wreaths, to car jewelry and jewelry to wear. I am now exploring resin and the beautiful art that I can create with it. I make my profit by an Etsy website, word of mouth, recommendations, and local craft shows and events. It is a part of my life that I am grateful for. In my free time, I craft, For a full time job, I work for the school system as a Para Special Educator until I get my Bachelors degree in Education where I will continue teaching Home Ed. or otherwise known as Family Studies. After I graduate, I am getting married in Ocean City on the beach.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I thought I wanted to be famous for a while, so before I started my business, I tried out for American Idol and NBC’s The Voice. I was not what the judges were looking for and after I made the commute and trip to NYC to try out, I was devastated that I was not selected. I thought I was a great singer and I would have no problem making it. I then decided that I should direct my creativity and gift of music to God. So, I tried out for my choir and have been singing in my church for 6 years. I love it and it gives me so much joy and pleasure to know that the only one I need to perform for is God and He loves my voice and knows me well. To others, my gift is not good enough for them, but to God, He hears perfection.

I am most proud of my 1st place prize winning Viewers Choice Award, Best in Show, 1st place crabshell that depicts the beautiful scenes of my great state of Maryland. I am very proud of it and the accolades I received for it. I am unique, my art reflects that.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I just rescued two kittens. Their names are Luna Moon Pie and Pumpkin Pecan Pie <3
