Today we’d like to introduce you to Aliyah (Sno) Hamilton.
Hi Aliyah (Sno), can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hey yes, so I do a series of things that include being a photographer, content creator, and the CEO of my very own podcast which is called Lesbihonesttalks on youtube. This has always been a dream of mine to have my own little talk show or radio show. Literally one day I’m like you know what I do this on youtube already, as far as me being in front of a camera talking to myself & whatnot, why not get a show going and record it for YouTube. So I just started jotting things down as far as ideas, and what I want to talk about. Soon as a light bulb hit in my head like wow I’m LGBTQ+ so why not get a platform that starts talking about things that go on in that lifestyle because its totally different from the regular world I tell you that. I wanted 6 episodes per season & I’m doing just that on season 2 of lesbihonest and I just can’t wait to keep bringing more topics and things that people can relate too.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Has this journey been a smooth road, let me tell you, NOOO! I’m currently still learning and one of my biggest issues is that I don’t know how to be patient & there are problems that happen on set like the camera may not have everyone in frame, or the audio wasn’t recording, or the camera dies. So it’s definitely things along the way that doesn’t make this process easy, and one of the hardest is when you need a special guest and trying to get people together. One thing I’ve learned in this industry is that not everyone supports you, some folks just want to be around because of what you have going on, it’s all about the motion. A big pet peeve is when folks cancel on me which is nothing to me but a setback, if you don’t see my goals or support them then I can’t have you around me now that’s a big problem which doesn’t make this process easy to me at all.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
So I’m a photographer, I’m getting into videos as well more this year, I’m a content creator, I do youtube, I also have my own podcast show called Lesbihonest. On top of that, I work a 6-2 on weekdays. I feel like I can just be stuck to one thing you gotta have some motion in yourself. So I keep my hands busy and literally try to be on any and every scene because how I look at it is everything is content! I have been doing photography for about two years now I’m still fresh in the game but I’ve learned so much from a lot of people and being on different types of scenes. The one thing that I can say I’m most proud of is me actually starting my podcast it took a lot because I know people say “I can, I can but never do I finally stopped saying I can or I want to and just actually did it. I think what sets me apart from everyone is I don’t want to be on the bandwagon, I’m creating my own wave for myself and I tend to inspire and motivate others every day and I love that because everyone should be heard you know. I have this certain drive that people really don’t have, and I blame my moms for giving me this work ethic that I have because it’s crazy. WHEN I SAY NO SLEEP, NO SLEEP.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see me on a bigger platform, whether it’s a TV network or something like Revolt. I definitely want to be heard on a bigger platform and I can most certainly see me on the big screens. Or honestly, it could change everything and see me put on the big screen whether that’s acting, hosting, etc. I also see me coming out with some merch for the show, so be on the lookout for that. I want to get the brand and the name out more before I just push but I know I can make it happen.
