Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Bertany.
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I received a BFA in photography at Columbia College Chicago in 2003. I worked for Tony D’Orio in Chicago for 6 years as his studio manager and production coordinator where i worked on very large productions nationwide. I moved to Atlanta in 2011 and started Amanda Bertany Productions – producing photo and video campaigns both nationwide and abroad.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every project has it’s unique set of challenges, and is a learning lesson. I’m always growing. I’m fortunate to work with the best in the industry, and I believe you’re only as good as who you surround yourself with. Moving to Atlanta not knowing anyone, and starting my own company the same year didn’t come without challenges. With persistence, I was able to build Amanda Bertany Productions, a successful production company based in Atlanta. My move came just at the right time, as the industry boomed here shortly after my move.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My background is in art. Professionally, I’ve found my perfect niche as an executive producer on photo and video shoots of all kinds – mostly advertising, but also fashion, key art for shows, celebrity, editorial, etc. I work on a wide-range of shoots, which keeps things interesting and exciting. I team up with exceptional photographers and directors to produce their projects from start to finish with the help of very talented crew. What sets me apart from others – I’m professional and personal at the same time, I can juggle a wide range of curveballs all at once while remaining calm and collected. My client list includes prestigious large companies of wide-range – including Mercedes-Benz, Coca-Cola, and Amazon entertainment just to name a few. I’m able to offer my clients creative solutions in achieving their vision successfully.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
This is a very cut throat business. Stay the course, know your place, be ready for anything, and be flexible.
