Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Headrick.
Hi Amy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We love the idea of working from a small coffee shop and at the time were looking for a good place to go and spend our time. In February of 2021 an opportunity came up for us to be able to create our own space. We signed the lease and got to work, remodeling a little building built in 1883. We knew we could transform the space into what we needed without causing permanent damage to the original structure.
We set a very optimistic timeline to open. Our goal was to have our soft opening one month from signing the lease and we only missed our goal by one week. It was very aggressive but it pushed us to be creative and not overcomplicate things. We wanted to retain the small hometown feel of Hoschton and we feel we really achieved that. We are involved in the community, local festivals, car shows, and anything we can to give back and share that small-town coffee shop experience we enjoy.
We are coming up on our one-year anniversary, and it’s been such a blessing every day to have the support of our tiny community. We hope to be here for many years to come!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There are plenty of challenges with starting any business but we have been blessed with an amazing staff and great advice. It’s been a crazy journey but we wouldn’t change it for the world.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We make craft coffee, including a traditional espresso menu. We experiment with flavors to make something unique, making most of our syrups in-house.
The thing we are most proud of is our custom seasonal menu. Sometimes it takes months to create that perfectly-balanced drink but it’s very rewarding when to see our customer’s reactions.
We are known for our personalized experience, making every guest feel like a part of our family.
How do you define success?
That’s a tough one. We don’t really see success as being a finish line or destination. Success is more of a journey. It’s a path we take to be better than we were the day before. It’s creating the best version of ourselves.
