Daily Inspiration: Meet Angelee Hardnett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelee Hardnett.

Hi Angelee, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hey everyone! My name is Angelee Hardnett— I’m a singer, songwriter, and all-around creative enthusiast!
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was that little 3-year-old girl running around with a microphone in my hand, singing my heart out to my family! Growing up in church really shaped me — it’s where I found my voice, my confidence, and my passion for performing. I was born and raised in Atlanta surrounded by its rich music scene and vibrant culture. The city where so many incredible artists started their journey and being a part of that legacy continues to motivate me. My dad, who’s also a talented singer, trained me early on, and I spent a lot of time singing alongside my brother Jai, who’s a musician and songwriter. As I got older, I started stepping onto bigger stages and auditioning for amazing opportunities like the Ed McMahon Talent Search, The Voice, and performing at events like the Bronner Bros Hair Show, The New Black Wall Street, The Woman’s Expo, The Black Girl Art Show, and the Festival of Trees. I’ve also performed at fashion shows, festivals, galas, and community events supporting causes like cancer and suicide awareness — something that means a lot to me.

Beyond singing, I’m also an actress and have loved performing in musical theatre productions like Little Shop of Horrors, Dreamgirls, The Color Purple, and more. I started writing my own songs as a kid, and that’s where I discovered my love for storytelling through music. Every stage, every song, every performance has been part of my journey — helping me grow, stay creative, and connect with people through the power of music.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s been a meaningful one. Being an independent artist comes with a lot of challenges —I currently wear many hats as an independent artist, but I’m excited about growing my team as I continue to evolve. I’ve been hands-on with every part of my journey so far, from creating and promoting my music to building my brand and community from the ground up. On top of that, balancing motherhood and going back to school to earn my degree in Marketing has really tested my strength and time management, but it’s also made me more focused and determined to learn more about the industry and music business as a whole. I’m looking forward to collaborating with the right people when the time and opportunities come.

Along the way, I’ve learned how important it is to trust my vision. It’s easy to get lost in what everyone else is doing, but I’ve learned the power of staying authentic and being myself. I’ve met so many amazing people through networking and events in the city allowing me to grow as an artist. Developing my own unique sound, protecting my voice, and staying consistent even when things get hard has empowered me to keep pushing. Building a real, loyal community of supporters takes time, dedication, and faith. I truly believe in God’s timing — that everything happens for a reason and at the right moment. This journey has taught me to never give up, to stay creative, and to keep my passion alive no matter what. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has reminded me that this is exactly the path I’m meant to be on. Every performance, every song, every setback has shaped me into the artist I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a singer, songwriter, and performer I am known for my good energy, positive attitude, unique tone and storytelling during my emotionally heartfelt performances. My voice and musical style blends passion, truth, and creativity. My music is all about connection — I love creating timeless songs with meaningful lyrics that people can truly feel and relate to expressing every emotion whether it’s falling in love for the first time, feeling inspired, or healing from a breakup. I like to create music that encompasses all of the things that make us human and navigate those real-life experiences.
What sets me apart is my authenticity, my strong work ethic, and my dedication to growth. I like to explore different musical genres, vocal styles, and techniques while staying true to who I am as an artist. I’m also very active in my community, using my platform and my music to inspire others, and give back whenever I can.
I’m proud of my new music ventures, my creative process, and the journey I’m on — from writing songs and recording singles to working on my upcoming album. Every performance, I aim to create unforgettable moments and genuine connections with my audience. My goal is to continue making music that uplifts, inspires, and stands the test of time.”

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m always open to collaborating and creating with other passionate artists, producers, musicians, and visionaries who share the same love for authentic, heartfelt music. I truly value meaningful connections — whether it’s in the studio, on stage, or within the community.

People can reach out through my social media or email for collaborations, features, or creative projects. Supporting my journey can be as simple as streaming my music, sharing my songs, coming out to shows, or spreading the word.

It’s all about coming together — building something real, supporting one another, and creating a community of genuine people who believe in purpose, passion, and the power of music.
