Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoine Williams.
Hi Antoine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
While in college I was approached many times by a photography student. I’ll never forget her name, Morgan Miller. She asked if I could pose for her portfolio. It was a shock to me because I never viewed myself as model material. I accepted and a week following the shoot, a teammate of mine (Dan Moon) who was a local model and actor in my home town suggested that I meet his agent. Again this was all new to me. I thought this couldn’t be a coincidence. So I took the pictures Morgan took of me and presented them to his agent. Interestingly enough, I was rejected by his agent at first but I returned the next day and showed that I was determined. They took a chance on me at that moment. And that’s when my journey began.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth ride. When I decided that I wanted to pursue acting full-time, there were many factors that I had to consider. Leaving my family and relationships behind and starting over in a brand new place. That was the hardest decision of my life. It’s so important to have a strong support system but it makes it harder when you’re over 1,500 miles away from everyone you know, love and trust. Making friends in a new city is always a struggle. Especially a shy person like myself. I ended up homeless for three months and living out of my car. It was hard for me to break this news to my loved ones. It’s definitely a moment that I look back on now as the moment that made me stronger and built the character and drive that I have now to succeed.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m known more for acting. Since committing to the craft, I’ve had various TV and film roles. Most memorable are roles on shows like NCIS: LA, SLEEPY HOLLOW, LETHAL WEAPON, THE FAMILY BUSINESS and most recently A FRIEND OF THE FAMILY. I’ve also been in many commercials. Some notebale ones are FOX SPORTS, eBay, SIT N’ SLEEP just to name a few. I’m most proud of my work in the upcoming Christmas film “GIFT WRAPPED”. A story about love and faith. A father struggling to provide for his family while taking care of his sick wife. Now that I’m married, It puts everything in perspective. Being able to juggle a career while always being there for my family is unique in itself. Being able to adjust and adapt without hesitation sets me apart from those who don’t have or have not yet experienced this.
