Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Stewart.
Hi Ashlee, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey is a little all over the place, and I’m so ok with that, lol. I actually moved to GA to be a Chiropractor, discovered it wasn’t my path and went on to the culinary world. I’ve been a Chef for a little over ten years, and that’s where my desire to food blog began. I started taking blogging and food/solo travel content creating seriously about two years ago and it’s opened so many doors for me!
My series “Snackin That Ash” is one of my favorites! I randomly review snacks or drinks and give my honest opinion. It’s truly so much fun for me to record, post, and interact with people in the comments. We do some good laughing on Snackin That Ash!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Sometimes navigating your niche and social media algorithms can be a bit frustrating. I’ve truly learned to just put my authentic self out there, and it’s worked for me so far!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’ve started introducing myself as a content creator to people now, and it’s so freeing! It’s something that I’ve been wanting to build and do for a while, and it’s truly who I am. Monetizing my brand @Foodiecutie and collaborating with other brands/businesses is what I put my energy into. I take pride in sharing my life, food, and travel experiences with whoever wants to be a part of the journey! My goal is to encourage people to put the fun in finding themselves! I’m not afraid to put myself out there in a world where everything seems staged. I’m silly, I can’t dance, and I love to eat and have a good time and I think people appreciate my authenticity.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I listen to Podcasts (The Read, Therapy for Black Girls, Sibling Rivalry, True Crime Obsession) religiously! Some self-help, some about pop culture and drag queens, lol. Pinterest is my go to for outfit ideas and of course a good recipe. YouTube is my Bible almost, I watch videos about content creating, workouts with Sydney Cummings or even videos about how to change my taillight. I’m a pro now! A book that I’m currently reading is “Professional Troublemaker” by Luvvie Ajayi Jones! It’s teaching me so much about knowing my worth as a black woman, a content creator and how to be an all-around perfectly imperfect human being.
